Phoenix Air Museum — Attraction in Palmira

I have to say this museum surprised me in a very positive way, I though it was a small one, but OMG they have tons of planes/cars /trains/vehicles/ & scale models, the museum is mostly directed towards aviation but includes other pieces related with transport. They have contributions from aviation professionals, hard-core modelist and artists. I was lucky to get a tour by the museum director, if you get the chance of talking with him, he will blow up your mind with amazing stories about the pieces of the museum and how they got them. The museum is expanding a lot, even in their limited space, and they do a great job considering how affordable is the ticket price. As an engineer working in aerospace sector and having seen other aerospace museums in Europe and North America, I can say this one is one of my favorites. As mentioned by someone else, going there is very easy if you arrive or leave Cali by airplane, just ask a taxi driver or bus driver in the airport, they all know and will explain how to come back. This museum is a hidden jewel of the city of Cali. You can see up close many of the most famous models of pipers, cesna, and few more little jewels like gyroplane, and even a hydroplane. But this is really not only a museum of aviation, because you can find here several Buick of 30s, trucks from MACK of 1916, and even a beautiful FORD Falcon. However, the big surprise was an incredible large collection of airplanes models. I don't remember precisely how many models of airplanes are shown here but are in the order of 10000. There is a fairly large collection of naval models that is really worth to see. So it's the right place to bring your kids. Sitio de interés para los amantes de la historia en aviación, también cuenta con secciones de replicas a escala de automóviles de la época de la era antigua y moderna gran variedad de marcas y modelos con gran calidad de detalles , motocicletas , el transporte marítimo y ferroviario, con una colección grande de maquetas que te harán soñar y vivir el momento como si estuviese en aquella época, es un recorrido bastante agradable para disfrutarlo viendo cada detalle de las exhibiciones, se puede ir en grupos , ya sean familiares, amigos ó de alguna empresa, estudiantes etc, que se interesan en conocer y no dejar en el olvido la historia que allí se cuenta en sus innumerables, figuras, objetos, fotografías y reseñas históricas , la preservación es parte de nuestra cultura debemos ser muy respetuoso, seguir las indicaciones que se nos dan para que demás personas puedan disfrutar y vivir lo que una vez ya hemos experimentado, recuerda cuidar el planeta, no arrojes basuras en ningún lugar así no te vean debes ser una persona integra eso caracteriza tu personalidad, muy recomendable visitarlo, atienden todos los días de la semana inclusive los festivos hacen apertura para todo visitante, un precio razonable para un lugar al cual visitas muy poco.
