Laguna Damas del Nare — Attraction in San José del Guaviare

This area is really amazing. I came to san jose del guaviare primarily for the rock art, but the wildlife viewing opportunities here were really exceptional, better than I had seen within some parts of the Amazon basin. I did a tour with Happy Life Birding, who were really great. We headed out to this lagoon at like 5am, getting breakfast on the way. The. We did a hike through the jungle, seeing woolly monkeys, squirrel monkeys and numerous birds. My guide Wilmer was really good at spotting the wildlife. We arrived at Econare for a snack, then headed out to the lagoon in a canoe. After about 20 minutes we started seeing the dolphins. They came right over to the boat and started playing with a rope tied to the front. We had a chance to swim with the dolphins, but they didn’t get too close, maybe like 10 feet away. Unlike some spots in brazil this location does not use bait to attract them, which is better imo. They come over to play just because they’re curious. After lunch we returned to econare for a tasty colombian lunch. And then we took a canoe back up the river, where we got stuck in a torrential downpour. The roads here are clay and not great, so I’m glad we had a 4x4 truck. We had to pull a 2WD SUV out of a muddy ditch that it got stuck in after a heavy rain. Este lugar cuenta con avistamiento de aves amiento de flora y fauna. Tiene un potencial muy grande al ser una de las lagunas más lindas de Colombia ya que cuenta con toninas, qué son delfines rosados del Amazonas quiénes vienen interactúan con cada persona desde su capacidad salvaje no son adiestrados, ni domesticados, son peces de más o menos 2 m de longitud Quiénes se acercan y en ocasiones nos tocan ya que son muy inteligentes y les gusta nuestra energía, por vía fluvial desde la ciudad de San José del guaviare son alrededor de 2 horas de camino, y por vía terrestre también. En el lugar se puede encontrar hospedaje mentación pero es recomendable ir mediante una operadora de turismo desde la ciudad de San José del guaviare, ya que ellos se encargan de organizar y preparar la logística Qué se necesita para tener una buena estadía en el lugar.
