Cute little place that’s full of hummingbirds, and an idillic place to spend a morning birdwatching, we saw at least 6 different species of hummingbirds, as well as owls and other birds.
A tour of the place takes about 1.5 hours, reserve your visit in advance on their website and bring cash to pay when you get there.
Be aware that the road up to the front gate is super rocky, narrow and steep, you will need a good car to get there. The municipality should maintain the roads better, but that’s not the observatory’s fault.

If you want to see and experience something different than the typical Bogotá tour you will want to experience this. The road to get there is mainly unpaved, Google Maps has been updated as of this post and will get you there but if you want to add to your experience you can walk the 5 km from the main road or bring your mountain bike to get to the place. The place is a sanctuary for many different species of hummingbirds. You have to make reservations on heir website prior to your visit since. I think it makes sense since the place doesn’t get too crowded and you can enjoy looking at the hummingbirds.
