Nicest place around for a picnic. You can walk through the trail and feel yourself lost in a tropical forest, but not to worry you will definitely not get lost at all. They have "ranchitos" for rent where you can cook and powered outlets for your appliances, ask for one at the entrance gate when checking in.

Great place for a family outing. Large play area for kids. Ranchos with picnic tables, fire pits and sinks are available on first come, first served basis. Clean washrooms. Amazing view of San José and Central Valley from the mirador. Small admission fee.

Great place, clean, open areas, BBQ areas you have go rent separately from the entrance fee, there is parking lot and pet friendly... NO DRONES allow sadly, I was able to use it because there were no sings but the administration came and told me to stop

A beautiful area but the dirt road to reach here is very bumpy. Cars drive this road but some sections are far better traveled in 4x4 or AWD. Interestingly enough, after this very poor road there is an excellent paved road... go figure 🤣. ALSO there is a east/west road slightly to the north which Google said I could use but it didn't exist on the east side and also the field where thos east/west road supposedly passed , it did have a dirt road but this area was secured and it was not...

Un centro turístico muy completo, con bastantes ranchos, baños, venta de comidas (no estoy segura si disponible todos los días), varios plays, cancha de basket y de fútbol, zona para mascotas y hasta un salon de eventos qhd se puede reservar con anticipacion. Además, tiene varios senderos para ir caminar o correr y un mirador bien bonito en donde está la famosa cruz. Todos los ranchos tienen mesa, basurero, pila y parrilla, además de electricidad y luz. Ahora incluso parece que hasta señal de WiFi disponible en algunos sectores. Importante a tener en cuenta, si la idea es pasar el día, lo mejor es ir preparados en cuanto a comida, pues la sodita es un poco limitada de momento y lo que ofrecen es más como para picar y el super más cercano está como a 4km. Se paga entrada (creo que de 2000 colones) y hay parqueo, por el que cobran como 2500 colones. Aunque también se puede subir en bus, que sale desde el parque del Carmen en Heredia; normalmente la última parada la hacen como a unos 600mts, pero a veces los chóferes hacen el favor de subir hasta la entrada del paradero. La verdad está muy bien cuidado y es una excelente recomendación para pegar tour de un día. Importante: es mejor llevar buen suéter, especialmente en epoca de invierno, pero aun cuando el día está soleado es bueno, porque a veces pasan...

It is quite difficult to get a ranch, as there are around 20 odd and first come , first serve basis. Though the bigger ranch has to be booked via municipal office registration.

So if you want a ranch you need to be there before the place opens and be in the queue to secure one.

The road near the entrance is quite narrow and turning around would be quite an...
