Some things everyone should know: Never ever go during the wet season, visibility is terrible, you will likely see nothing, they will not refund. The swells are terrible during this time and completely unpredictable.
There are tiny jellyfish that will sting you, if you are sensitive consider wearing full length swim gear.
They are incredibly restrictive. Guides are required, free snorkeling is limited/non existent. You will likely be tethered to a life jacket, you will not be welcome to dive down below the surface. They may not let you go more than 15-20 feet away from the guide. I've never experienced this much restriction in any other place I've ever snorkeled.
I highly recommend against these tours, they are a massive waste of money compared to many free...
Read moreGreat 1/2 day out snorkelling along the shoreline. We saw a bottle nose dolphin on the way there and a lot of turtles (green, hawks bill, sea). Lots of reef fish which you would expect (parrot, puffer, needle, starfish...). I'm the morning the visibility was good but the afternoon when the tide started to come in got more difficult as the sand got churned up.
This is a very busy spot with lots of snorkelling and diving tours so a lot of boats and a lot of people. When we went onto Cano island for a break, there was a toilet up a hill quite close by and then a viewing platform further up. Not a great deal else, which is good.
Should you visit? Yes you have come out all this way and there is no guarantee what else you may see. ...
Read moreThis place was amazing. We went snorkeling here and loved it. Good visibility in the water especially in the morning. We say lots of kinds of fish along with turtles, sharks and rays. They said the visibility and and schools of fish are better during the raining season but even with that it was still one of if not the best spot we have snorkled. We also saw dolphins on the way out and a out of season humback on the way back in. The island was also a great stop...
