This Place is BEAUTIFUL! You must visit. I do have one piece of advice, make sure you take the road that leads to Dominical and follow the big signs to the falls. If you are not afraid of extreme driving conditions then take the back roads. The back roads are also beautiful you will have the most amazing and gorgeous views however its very scary because the roads are not for the faint of heart you will encounter steep mountains, cliffs, roads where only one car can get through, streams and rivers you must cross. I unfortunately was not ready for it but I had no choice I had to keep going and Im glad I did it but I was very scared. When I left the falls I went back the other way which was a nice dirt road with no rivers, more people and easy to drive on. I recommend a 4x4 for the extreme back road. For the road from Dominical any type of vehicle can make it even a Prius. In regards to the falls you will not want to leave its the most beautiful place Ive ever seen. They have parrots flying freely, they sell food however you can bring you own if you want I recommend their food its cheap and its good. I also recommend the horses at the end when you are ready to go. The horses are friendly and pretty much know the trail. Its a beautiful experience. I HIGHLY recommend visiting this location. It truly...

Very expensive. It cost $14 per person which is too much. Adult foreigners she said cost 7000 colones per person. CR Nationals are 4000 colones. After turning off the paved highway, it is a long 12 kilometer bumpy road with two rickety steel bridges to cross each way. Google Maps says they close at 4:00PM, but when the four of us arrived (after the long drive) at 12:50 on a beautiful sunny August day we were told they were closing at 2:00. It takes about 25 minutes to walk the steep trail down to the waterfall. We had time for a look and a fast swim, but I refused to pay full 28,000 colones for 20 minutes at the waterfall due to their early 2:00 (not posted anywhere) closing. She would not budge on the high $14 entry price and then she told me I should have made a reservation, so it was my fault. We were the only car in the parking lot. Not accommodating at all. So we left.

I started coming here many years (2019) ago when the woman first opened and put up her road sign by Tobacco Taller. Back then it cost 7 or 8 dollars. She keeps raising her prices and she forgets how far we must all drive to get to her house. Go early, hours are 8AM to 4PM, or 2:00 PM if they decide to close...

Path is the least accessible and most dangerous one I’ve ever had to pay $10/5,000 colones to walk on. Out of 4 people in my party I was the only one left uninjured. 3 of us only made it half way down. My wife nearly fainted after we made it back up, and this was in front of the person who sold us tickets. No refund, no water, and absolutely no assistance, or even CONCERN was offered! Our friend fell and injured himself, and his girlfriend also nearly fainted. A waste of 1/2 a day, and $40 for us. The road there was also dangerous and caused nausea. My friend did drive us there in a 4x4 capable vehicle, but ICE workers nearly guided us over a ditch on the way back. In summary: the road is dangerous, the path was dangerous, the staff was unfriendly, and you shouldn’t have to pay for a...

Our first time was in the rainy season last year and we loved it! The waterfall is fuller :) We came today during dry and “high” season and it was still a great visit (yes the waterfall is smaller but still love this area. We saw macaws this time and up close! Also, not very crowded and by the afternoon there really isn’t anyone around). It’s about a 10 hike from the entrance to the falls. Easy to take kids and if you have trouble walking you can do it slow (noticed this time there are walking bamboo sticks at the entrance to borrow). This place is more than just the waterfall… you can chill by the river and there is also a little canyon which is beautiful to see too. There’s a little restaurant and changing rooms too. We took our 70 year old parents and they had a blast… it’s a beautiful area!

Stunning waterfall with great shower facilities. Short and easy hike on good trails down to the main falls, easy access to a lazy river with swimming holes, and a bit further down is a medium approx 8m cliff jump into a deep gorge with easy ladder to climb out. The road in is a gorgeous and pretty fun dirt road adventure. Totally doable in a 2wd but if it's raining you could get into some trouble on the last sections with short steep sections and some ruts. The bird life around the parking lot and trails were exceptional. Saw many rare birds and sat there listening to their songs for about an hour before leaving, even saw a couple scarlet macaw which are very few and far between in this part of the county.

This waterfall was one for our favorites in Costa Rica. The family who owns the place are so kind and the the little restaurant at the waterfall is a wonderful part of the experience. Mario helped us out and he was so sweet to help us and our kids and show us around. We ordered our food at the office / entrance and then walked about a quarter mile to the waterfall. At the waterfall there is a pace right jump and a little river water slide. After playing in the water we went up to our warm food that was cooked right there in a kitchen on the trail. They even had fresh papaya juice and yummy hot chocolate if you happen to be there in a rainy day. It was so fun!! Loved it.
