The cave was beautiful however DO NOT DO THE TUBING down the river. We asked the sales agent is it was safe and they told us yes and rented us tubes and showed us the trail to hike and said hike to the top and said it comes back out where they are so we go up the trail which is nice… to the end where it is like a mini beach the water had a little current but mostly calm so we jumped on our tubes and started going down around the corner which was pretty immediate we quickly realized it was dangerous but it was to late we had already got caught in the current Me and my 14 year almost died by drowning the tube is so small you slam into rocks and there are drop offs. We ended up going under and the current was sooo strong as it dropped off a mini waterfall and kicked us around like ping balls I have cuts and scraps and bruises all over my body. But we are grateful we are alive…. If I had been down another few seconds i/we would have been floating down the river as a dead body(s). We ended up grabbing onto rocks after resurfacing from the drop and pulled ourselves out without a shoe we walk through brush to...
Read moreSince I had a hard time finding good up to date info on this stuff via reviews, this spot is great! You go in past the old gatehouse, and while you can park by there, the road is fine for all cars (just maybe not great if raining/wet) to get to the parking area. There are good bathrooms (3 stalls), and a nice shack to pay at (cash is best, crc easier but usd accepted) and rent tubes, buy snacks, phone sleeves, etc. We just walked to the "end" where the rope swing is and then swam back up through the caves. While the float down river from the top seems cool, it also seems tricky/some work involved skipping the small waterfalls. If you're worried about that, it's totally doable to just hop in at the end and then paddle up to a waterfall through some of the slot canyon. It's really cool, and also very swimmable without floatation with places to take breaks if in decent shape. Though floatation is always safer. Either way, fun times, nice refreshing water, friendly...
Read moreGreat spot to visit if you’re near Liberia or passing through. Traveling with my kids ages 7,6, and 5 and they were able to handle the trails in flip flops (although a little slippery when wet around the rocks). Life vests and tubes are available for rent. For an idea of the swimming spots, if you’ve just left the tube/ life vest kiosk and it’s behind you, the trail to the left, up the hill, is about a 5 minute walk and you’ll see 2 swimming spots, with beautiful real/ blue water. At that point, we only had one tube and my kids didn’t want to swim in it. After we walked back and got more tubes, we searched for the other swimming spots. Follow the signs for “Cueva” (cave) and you’ll discover a swimming spot with shallower rock areas that kids can walk/ play with the cave you can swim through. This spot is a further walk, but...
