A must experience if you love chocolate! We all agreed that this was the best 70% cacao that we’ve ever tasted. I have been on four different chocolate tours, three of which, in Costa Rica, and this farm and tour did a phenomenal job on educating us, touring us around the farm, learning the process of production, and making our very own chocolate to take home. The price is right. The quality of the tour and the tour guide were phenomenal. And it’s great to support the local economy. And we really enjoyed learning about what they’re trying to do to teach farmers in the area to be smart about setting us sustainable farms. It’s the type of place you want to support because they are investing in the community. We were there about two hours. It was well worth the trip. They have a space for small children to play. My teenagers enjoyed the tour. We did not book in advance, but we did call and they were kind enough to accommodate our timeframe. I would bring a group of students...

We took the Nortico cacao tour and also stayed at the Airbnb Casita on the farm overnight. Both my spouse and I agree that it was the highlight of our trip. Everyone was so welcoming and warm. When they say all are welcome here, they definitely mean it. We had very tasty breakfast and lunch made for us at a really affordable price so we didn't have to leave the farm or cook. It was fascinating to see how cacao is grown and fermented. It was inspiring to see what the folks at Nortico are working on in order to push forward cacao farming and sustainability. They are pulling in the community around them and also considering how farming can coexist and sustain the rich Costa Rican wildlife. Taking the tour, eating at the farm, and staying at the casita help Nortico continue to elevate the Turrialba community so it is a form of tourism that gives back. Going to the beach was great, but this was so...

Spent a wonderful half day at Nortico, learning about their sustainable agricultural philosophy for growing Cacao and producing amazing chocolate. Aldo has a passion that is palpable! His ideas for the future of this business are sound and we hope that the surrounding community of farmers will join them and build a viable and lasting business in Costa Rica. BTW lunch was excellent and we got to make our own chocolate. Hint - buy theirs! Important: Make a reservation online to be sure of joining a tour and...

This was a highlight of our trip! The farm is beautiful and the owners are so kind. The “tour” is more of an experience - you can taste the cacao through the process of chocolate making, including as a fruit, as a dried bean, shelling the beans, and making the bean paste. And the chocolate you get to taste is rich and pure. We stayed for lunch and it was YUMMY! I can’t wait to come back here. Definitely a must-do.
