This is one of the best excursions that I've ever been on with any cruise. Learning about bananas, coffee, and sugar cane was interesting and informative. Granted, it's not for everyone, especially small children or someone looking for an adrenaline rush, but we had a wonderful time. We had booked a shore excursion to the Tayutic Hacienda. It was a beautiful drive to the place, very scenic.... took about 2 hrs from Limon. The property is very pretty with gorgeous views of the valley. The coffee bean and sugar demonstration was very entertaining and informative. The people there are very sweet. This is a gorgeous hacienda in the mountains in Costa Rica which is a 2 hour drive from the Caribbean port of limon. They grow organic bananas, macadamia nuts, coffee and sugarcane of first quality.
