Do yourself a favor and book with Maquique; you won't regret it!!

Maquique Adventure Canyoning is an absolute must-do experience that I couldn't rave about more if I tried! From the moment you start this adventure, you're in for a treat that's not just thrilling but also heartwarming, thanks to the over-the-top wonderful tour guides.

First off, let's talk about the guides - Each guide, from Dario to Kenneth, Francisco, and Jairo, brought an infectious enthusiasm and professional spirit that made every step of the journey feel like you were the absolute favorite tour group they have ever had. Their expertise in canyoning was matched only by their dedication to ensuring every adventurer felt safe, secure, and part of the family. They were patient, explaining every detail with a smile, ensuring we knew exactly what to expect, and making sure we had fun while staying safe. They even went out of their way to capture the highlights of our adventure with amazing photos and videos, which they generously shared with us afterward, no extra charge!

The flow of the tour was nothing short of perfection. Everything was timed and executed to give you an unforgettable adventure without a moment of boredom or unnecessary waiting.

Safety was paramount. The equipment was top-notch, and the guides' attention to detail in safety protocols was evident throughout. They made sure everyone had the right gear, knew how to use it, and felt confident at every stage. The dual-rope system for rappelling, where one rope was for descent and another for safety, was a testament to their commitment to safety.

And let's not forget the food! After working up an appetite with all that excitement, the authentic Costa Rican lunch served was a delicious highlight. It was the perfect way to end the day's adventure. And be sure it check out the ice cream vendor attached to the lunch spot - totally worth it!

In conclusion, an unparalleled experience where every element - from the guides' exceptional care, the well-orchestrated tour flow, stringent safety measures and the delicious food - combines to create not just a tour, but a memorable life experience. If you're in La Fortuna, absolutely do yourself a favor and book...

What an incredible experience with Maquique Adventure! This has been hands-down one of the best things I have done in my time in Costa Rica & cannot recommend it enough. I ended up doing their canyoning/white water rafting day tour which was, wow, just incredible. Starting off the day bright and early with some exciting canyoning, the level of professionalism by all of our guides was admirable. They helped create a fun, safe environment where our entire group felt comfortable with every part of the tour. Not only was I impressed by the level of detail in the tour, from the seamless transitions between each activity to the details weaved throughout, I also felt incredibly safe in every single part, even canyoning from a 60 meter high waterfall!! Then, we continued our adventure-packed day with white-water rafting. As I had never done this before, I was very nervous, but our incredible guide (super) Mario made sure our group felt not only safe, ready, and comfortable for our adventure, but that we enjoyed it as much as possible. From the very beginning, safety was a clear priority and after going through some practical safety commands as well as practicing them, we were ready to embark on our adventure, and wow was it incredible! Working together as a team, we all enjoyed our time so much and were so bummed when we finished, ready to do another rafting tour as soon as the next day if we could! I've worked in tourism in various countries and can say without a doubt that Maquique's attention to detail is next-level. From the towels offered after rafting to dry ourselves, to the delicious pineapple slices throughout the entire day, to the entire logistics of each activity, to even the professional photos taken throughout the entire day & provided as a really special gift to all clients, Maquique has really considered every detail making their adventures a worth-while experience. I cannot recommend them enough, if you're in Costa Rica, you have to do a tour with Maquique Adventures, you won't regret it! ¡Pura vida y gracias por una experiencia...

A trip to Maquique is a MUST do when you stay at La Fortuna. Me and my partner went in April. We tried rappelling and white water rafting (class 3) for the first time and it was a highlight of our whole trip!

We started with a gorgeous walk through the rainforest with howler monkeys (that answered us!) followed by rappelling off stunning waterfalls (after a lesson!), ziplining through the trees and canyoning along the river bed. Our guides Kenneth and Ronald were sensational- tonnes of fun with advice about our stay, encouragement and great teaching. It was such a professional operation with safety at the focus (even more so than bigger parks we ziplined through later). After some provided snacks, Mario, Frank and David took us to the river for our rafting. They were very welcoming and we chatted the whole way. We were very fortunate as even though the other party cancelled on the activity, they went ahead rafting with just the two of us (which was fantastic!). Mario was the perfect guide; instructing us, having fun with us, pointing out nature like a safari and cutting up some homegrown pineapple for us to enjoy on the water. Frank followed in his kayak to take photos and for safety, but when we said we wanted to see sloths he went ahead and found 3 two toed sloths for us to see! We ended the rafting with drinks and a ride back to LF for a delicious traditional meal, before being dropped home again. During both activities they made sure to take lots of pictures of us to then send to us free of charge (which were expensive in the next park we went to!!) Overall, this was fantastic day of fun and adventure. We were well looked after and the guys were great, they really seemed to enjoy what they did and care about the surrounding environment. I truly think it would be hard to experience this with any other company, and it was great to support a local (and family!) business. We would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you to all at Maquique!! This tour was amazing. We drove ourselves to Maquique and it was easy to find. The road there wasn't the best, but very minor details. Just take it slow :). Once at Maquique, there was plenty of parking spots. We were greeted by very friendly staff that answered any questions we had. Once we were fitted into our gear, it was off we went to the rappel. Highly reccomended. It was our first time and felt very confident and safe. Kenneth and Brieferson were amazing guides and are highly reccomended. They were just so much fun and treated you like family. We would actually love to hang out with them! We only wish we could have kept doing it over and over and over again. The final rappel and final zip line will blow you away. We even went upside-down at the same time as a couple. After we were finished, we were greeted by the best pineapple we've ever had in our life. If you are curious what to wear, I suggest shorts, tshirt, and watershoes/sandals with grip as there are slippery rocks. You will get Wet (waist deep). We were pants but really didn't need to. After everyone got situated, it was time to head off to a wonderful local restaurant where we parked and boarded a shuttle to the next stop, which was rafting. It was very fun and suitable for begginers. Carlos (he called himself that, but I didnt catch his real name) was very kind and funny!!! He always kept you safe during the whole adventure. The rapids aren't massive but remember there is still a risk of falling in. Again, very fun and worth it! We even stopped on the bank to see some Sloths and eat more delicious pineapple. After the rafting, we head back to the restaurent where we had an amazing home made meal. If you are wondering what to wear, anything you dont mind getting wet. Wear some sunglasses you don't care if you lose and sunscreen! Perfect day with perfect company. Don't miss out. Pura vida!

Everything about this experience was beyond expectations. For $101, you get local pickup & drop off in very clean vans, expert guides, stunning views, and a wonderful Costa Rican breakfast to top it all off. As a small business, Maquique is very intentional about their customer experience, and keeps their groups small for maximum attention & enjoyment, usually 6-8 at a time, and in our case, 4 people. Our guides, William and Roy, were fun, friendly, super helpful, and very encouraging throughout rappelling and zip lining. Felt incredibly safe while having a blast. Best of all, it’s not just zoom zoom through the rainforest with your eyes doing most of the enjoyment like most zip lines. They teach you the beginner basics of rappelling, how to control your speed and how to kick off the rock faces, and you spend plenty of time with the waterfalls. Better than just jumping off a waterfall and into a watering hole for swimming — you’re part of the waterfall with this experience! Wear water shoes for pools and a little hike, clothes you’re ready to get soaked in, and bring a towel & dry outfit to dry off after, because you will 99% get wet. At the base camp, showers were plentiful and very clean. The staff ended our experience with refreshingly sweet pineapples, apples, and water before taking us to a scrumptious local breakfast spot. Professional all around, excellent value, and superb experience. Great vibes all around and Pura Vida at its best. Don’t miss it. 10/10 recommend and would do again. Tours available 3x a day, 7am, 10am, and I think 2pm.
