Wow! Just wow! We went on Valentine’s Day which is a month into the dry season so the falls weren’t falling much but there was still a pretty good stream. The hike is a tad confusing. To enter you do not go the direction the sign says to go. Instead you walk up a small hill/driveway where a path to the right opens up. The hike to the waterfall is very treacherous in parts and you even have to use a rope to go down then back up at one point to get in and out of the falls. Some parts of the path have very loose dirt and tiny paths but lots of branches to hold on to and the fall down the path is incredibly dangerous so wear hiking shoes if you want to go and be very aware that one parts are dangerous. We took other paths to find the waterfall and those never lead to it but they are beautiful nonetheless. We also smelled cat pee on our way back out that we did not smell before on our way in and we heard all the birds and monkeys go crazy then dead silent for the remainder of our hike out. Take that as you will. With all of that in consideration, the hike to the waterfall is 100% worth it! Even with a small flow the waterfall absolutely stunning and the jungle surrounding it was lush and green! I’ve never seen anything so beautiful and I’m so happy we did the hike. We took our 6 year old and 4 year old with us. They are terrible listeners with zero fear and we still managed to make it to the falls by guiding them and holding on to them. Do this hike and splash in these waters!!! I posted a picture of the sign to NOT follow and the driveway (last pic) behind the sign to follow.

Went in on Feb 1 2025. Flow was clearly slowibg, but still beautiful and private. The drive in is not for the faint of heart amd the trail is teadious to access but well worth it. Need to ford a couple of small streams along the way in from the 245. Note that on the 245 one bridge is out completly, had to ford river with 4-6 inches of water. A second bridge is almost out further along. Opted to ford the river on my way, but too deep on the return as the river was tidal. Safely crossed the broken bridge which held together in the middle by a large tree trunk, and not much wider than the tire width of a midsized SUV Almost missed the parking completly. There is a fork in the road near the end of the "road" where you need to go up approximatly 50m to the right to park. See other review for trail access instructions. You have gone too far if you see a large lodge with cabanas in the forest on the right or reach the watee.

Sadly after all that effort, I made it halfway up (too treacherous to continue), my husband made it all the way to the top only to find the falls DRY. NO WATER. He saw plastic hoses or pipes, perhaps they're creating a dam or something? A trickle from an underground stream but otherwise dry. It IS treacherous, we didn't see any ropes, so climb at your own risk. Today is 4th July 2024, there has been lots of rain recently, so no reason for a dry waterfall other than human interference. Be careful touching dead trees etc, there was a poison dart frog there. Howler monkeys there, bird life, the scent of wild boar, but the falls at the top dry. WEAR CLOSED TOES HIKING SHOES OR BOOTS WITH GOOD TREAD, and take drinking water, and grab a big stick if u can (like a walking stick). VERY difficult to get to the top and slippery rocks. I imagine it would be stunning if there was water at the top falls.
