Playa Dominicalito — Attraction in Puntarenas Province

CAUTION: we got robbed. A local watched where we hid our car key. We have hid keys to surf for years and never had this issue. Here, they will follow you and wait till you think no one is looking. They used the key to steal money and credit cards while we surfed. Do better than us! Don’t get robbed!

FUN FACT: it’s hard to get new cards overnighted to your hotel when the address reads “the place next to the town square by the beach”.

Great for the views but you can get more than bruised in these waters! Lots of rocks! Highly suggest for strolls and experienced surfers and ocean swimmers. As much as I love the vibe and natural beauty of this beach, the choppy water and rocks have left me scabbed up a few times. Still…it’s stunning and well worth the visit. Pick up a pipa frío and enjoy this...

This beach is DANGEROUS!!! I’m a surfer and you need to be prepared to get hurt here. The bottom is rock covered (small and large). You can only surf here 1-2 hours before and after high tide. There will be dozens of beginning surfers here. The parking area has broken glass scattered about and signs say that thieves are watching you to break...
