Nice little beach and if you are lucky like we were, you may see white-face and spider monkeys. We also saw some rays flying out of the water! Playa Blanca is nicer (and water clearer) but you need to walk a few minutes from Mantas to get there.

There is a small public parking and "valets" will let you park or park your car for "donation" of $5000, so a decent price. Hotel parkings close by are super expensive like 15 000 or 20 000, so not an option.

Washrooms are difficult to find (unless you park at an hotel) and come prepared as there is no food service close to the beach, except for snack bar with limited options. Having sais that, there is a soda and a store les than a kilometer on you way to the public parking.

Sad that folks are not picking up their trash, so beautiful and should stay like that!

We will come back...

Didn't have to go too far to find a beach as Playa Mantas is directly outside the pool exit from Hotel Punta Leona.

There are security guards to - I imagine - stop the locals entering hotel premises and to check that residents can return, but the beach is very chilled and the locals love having a picnic, barbecue and a music-filled good time.

Not a bad option so close to our accommodation, but while the bay is beautiful, if you stay at Punta Leona, I would recommend the in-house shuttle bus to Playa Blanca, which is a much nicer beach and officially part of the hotel.
