Recently enjoyed a trip to the Corso Dairy Farm and participated in the tour. I never thought that a visit to a dairy farm could be this peaceful and enjoyable. For 17,000 colones (approximately $30 U.S. dollars) I was able to taste various cheeses made on premises, the best sour cream I've eaten in my entire life and fresh strawberries from the farm. The fee also included a tour through the farm, including milking cows, learning about new and old technology used to milk cows and produce cheese on the farm and learning about strawberry cultivation. The tour, which lasted approximately one hour, was capped off with a wonderful lunch and a strawberry drink made with fresh strawberries grown on the farm. The farm also has pigs, rabbits, chickens and roosters, so it offers a great time for the entire families. The farm is nestled in a scenic area high in the mountains and less than a 10 minute drive from one of the most famous volcanoes in Costa Rica. Will definitely be visiting this place again and bringing my kids with me on my next trip...

Read moreI am sorry to write this commentary, but the tour of this farm was not what expected for me. This is a dairy farm which produces cheese, but never during the tour the industrial milk and cheese process is shown or explained. That was what I wanted to see. The tour focuses on milking 3 poor cows which get touched by the hands of hundreds of tourists everyday, a small walk into the jungle to see sloths, the strawberry greenhouse and some other farm animals (pigs, chicken, rabbits) which are just here for the "show". For the price, I was expected something more interesting...
