They allowed a group of atleast 150ish kids to go on the main trail, the one where people go to see animals, these kids where screaming their lungs out and acting like enraged chimpanzees. I was seeing animals in the first 15min of my walk, after that the big group came through and there was not a single living thing that stayed anywhere near the trail anymore... Who approved of this? serieusly... this is not only extremely arrogant to the photographers and wildlife enthousiasts that want to see animals but very bad for the animals, if these kids see a snake or something on the trail we all know what would happen to the poor thing, and ofcourse a huge disruption for the animals.. Other then that the nature was pretty. for that the 2 stars...
Read moreI studied abroad from Philadelphia University and stayed at this research outpost facility in Guanacaste (studying EcoDiversity in the tropical dry forests of Central America). The facility is in good working condition, and the meals prepared by the family running it were always warm and delicious. There was some electricity available in the research cabins. The facilities on grounds use cistern water that is not heated.
It is pitch black at night with no light pollution, and offers an incredible sight of the sky at night time.
