Waddup guys, I'm giving this 3 stars because I'm in between. First and foremost this hike is DIFFICULT. It's short but very steep, narrow and slippery in some areas. We should have figured this after we signed the waiver to enter (you sign it during the process of paying). It was $20 USD to enter. We showed up at around 3pm with no reservation and they let us in. They have ropes in the very difficult to climb areas to help assist you. They are NECESSARY in the areas that they place them. There are 4 waterfalls which take roughly 2 hrs to see if you're hiking the full trail. May take a little longer depending on pace. I only saw the first 3 which took me about an hr and half (with stopping and taking pictures, videos, etc). In terms of scenery, this place gets 5 stars. It's beautiful but the reason I gave it 3 stars is because I did this with my mother who was forced to turned back due to difficulty (and safety) reasons. We had been walking for about 10 minutes when she realized she could not continue. Allen (who you will see mentioned in the reviews here more than once) was very friendly but he refused to give my mother a refund which I did not appreciate. He did not emphasize the difficulty of the trail to begin with which I'm sure he does with everyone. To give you an idea of how difficult the trail is, we were there for a few short hours and literally saw someone else who turned back after a couple of minutes as well. Just be safe and know...

It's an easy (and gorgeous) drive from Heredia, and you have amazing views of the valley and the mountains. We did a day trip where we saw Poas Volcano, La Paz Waterfall, and Laguna de Hule. This hike is right in the middle of all that and was DEFINITELY the highlight. We got to see four waterfalls, and the biggest one took my breath away. My friend and I felt like we had the whole hike to ourselves even though we saw some other people while there. The whole thing felt like an epic adventure. I've hiked a lot in CR and this is definitely my favorite I've done. Off the beaten path, worth the money ($20 per person) and run by a very kind staff. The path is gorgeous and well-maintained, but still feels rugged and hidden. We messaged the staff a couple hours before arriving and they responded immediately and helped us set the whole thing up. They have bathrooms and showers at the parking lot, as well as a little picnic area at the start of the hike. Bring lots of water, and...
Read moreThese trails and falls at Cinchona are like paradise. Neither pictures nor words can do this place justice. The falls are really impressive, especially the final one at the bottom, Sam Fernando, which is crazy high and has so much power. Swimming is possible in the pools of 2 of the 4 falls here. The trails are technical, and should be done with good footwear and with a reasonable level of fitness. However the paths are easy to follow and Allen at the entrance provided excellent directions beforehand. Yet it still feels like you are setting off into the wild jungle. This is a very different experience to the typical tourist attractions nearby like the coffee farm tours and La Paz park ( it is only a short distance away from the entrance to La Paz, but so much better in my view). If you want something a bit more unusual and a bit more natural than those touristy places, and you want an adventure then this place is for you. You will come away with...
