Adventure Dining — Attraction in Tárcoles

Our experience of adventure dining was very mixed. Initially the gardens and walk to the restaurant was stunning. lots of flora and fauna to see and learn about. The food was good but simple with 3 pieces of steak, 2 pieces of mahi mahi and 2 prawns accompanied with mash potato and a fresh salad. the starter was a tropical salad and desert was stewed bananas with ice cream - for 110USD per person it wasn’t much to shout home about! the bar is an “open bar concept” with self service of an extensive spirit collection, limited soft drink options. To our knowledge there is no vegetarian option.

Being a British tourist having near constant questioning about if and when i was going g to propose to my girlfriend (who was present with me) was very uncomfortable and inappropriate to say the least! If i was to get up to get a drink or use the toilet i was asked every time if im “making a speech or announcement to my partner” - very weird and very uncomfortable. All we did was say we weren’t married and that’s enough to get questioned!

The owner likes to take photos - without permission - of the group you’re with, but also with the strangers you haven’t met before like we’re all one big happy family.

When it came to paying we felt very backed into leaving a rather generous tip (40USD which was the deposit). The owner assumed as the others had left a tip that we should too, there wasn’t really an option not to and from the UK we tip on service and experience, not on percentages.

A total of 260USD for the evening was extremely expensive and not good...

My mom, 2 sisters and I had an unbelievable experience at Adventure Dining for my sister's birthday. We ended up having a private dinner which was an incredibly special way to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday. David took us on a wonderful tour around the gardens while taking pictures of the 4 of us that he would share later. We ended on the patio with the most amazing views of the beaches, waterfall and sunset. Having dinner with those views were so memorable. The appetizers and dinners were very good and we felt right at home. The patio lit up at night and the fireworks were the perfect end to the evening. It was raining hard when we left so David drove our car down the patio so we would not have to make the walk up in the rain. 5 star service all around. We came from Florida to Costa Rica for a wedding. We visited adventure dining and decided it was so great we had to come back for our rehearsal dinner. We had a very large group of over 30 people and could not have asked for better service or a better time . It was the most beautiful restaurant I have been to and I have been all over the US.
