Nov 2018 We went to Costa Rica for sister's birthday! One of our tours booked through our travel agency was with Monkey Jungle Zip line Canopy Tours. I would not recommend them for several reasons listed below. First of all, I personally own ATV's and could ride better than our guide. I also noticed their quads were not in good condition, tires balding, seats split but they did get us to where we were going. As tourist, we learned that when you book a tour that has both ATV's and zip lining, and your expecting to really go off roading and see the beautiful sites you'll be disappointed. Do not book them together in one tour because the ATV's were only transportation from their home location to the zipline location. We rode on some back roads and saw homes and had a small quick area of riding through the jungle. We tried to have fun with our guide in the beginning, we even took pictures with him. Until he misunderstood having fun with flirting. He eventually became inappropriate with his comments and rude, since they were unwelcomed he quickly changed his attitude towards us and it wasn't customer friendly at all. Since we were the only clients that day he suddenly became in a big rush to push us down the zipline quickly so they could be done and go home. Since I am cautious with heights and don't zip line everyday, I wanted to take my time and enjoy it, after all we did pay for it. They acted like we were in a race. Before they safely unhooked one of us, the other one was coming in at us. He asked me if I was scared of heights and physically pushed my head down. I yelled at him and told him that was flat out mean! If he didn't get that I didn't care for him before, he new for sure then. So no, I did not enjoy my time at Monkey Jungle! The set up itself is not bad, it was just our tour guide that day I am rating 1 star. If it was my first time and I had a different guide I'm sure my review could have been totally different. Pure vida, Barbara

10/10 - Such a blast!!! The whole experience was awesome, our group of 5 had a great time with the team. The zip lines were fast and the rides were long. Going between platforms was such a unique experience. We saw monkeys and were right in the thick of the jungle. Such an authentic and fun time. We had never zip lined before. The team made sure we knew what we were doing and made us all feel comfortable and safe the whole time. Extremely professional and safe experience with bonus fruit at the end. Maybe you’ll even see a special little black dog that runs through the jungle with the team.

Highly recommend this activity when visiting the Tamarindo area. It's less than a 30 minute drive from all the Tamarindo hotels; use a car, golf cart, ATV, or whatever. Starling took our reservation and greeted us when we arrived; admin and prep was easy and fun, questions were welcomed and encouraged. Allen and Juan were our guides. They made sure we were safe (especially kids and pregnant wife), treated us with the utmost courtesy and respect, and made sure we were having fun. Fruit and cold water was waiting for us at the end.

We called Monkey Jungle Tours the morning of for a last minute booking. We ended up getting a 1:00pm booking for the same day for our party of 5 people. The drive to Monkey Jungle was interesting since Google Maps tried to take us through a field of cows. LOL. If you are coming from the east of Tamarindo or Playa Negra be cautious on the directions. Once we arrived we were promptly greeted with amazing hospitality by Hernan who manages the facility. He came out smiling and welcoming and brought us freshly sliced pineapple and bottled waters. He instructed us to hang tight for a few minutes while the other group in front of us wrapped up.

We then were brought into the shop to gear up and to be explained the safety features of our gear. Very professional staff and amazing hospitality. Shortly after, we were transported via ATV to the top of the mountain for the first line. The ride up the mountain on the ATV was fun in itself. The view at the top was incredible. You can see 360 degrees and its breathtaking.

We then walked down to the first platform to launch and the guides (Hugo and Allen) were extraordinary. These guys truly understand what it means to be "of service" and they are incredbile in every way. We had some members in our party a bit fearful of heights but they were amazingly reassuring and never pressed anyone to do anything they did not want to do. They took their time, and they were positive and upbeat.

We completed the entire course in just over 90 minutes for all 5 of us. The lines were so much fun. I was honestly apprehensive because I had read some reviews of other places that stated the lines were not very fast or very high or you could not see much. These were great! Great speed and always high enough to make you feel like you are flying through the trees. It was one of those adventures where we were all ready to do it again!

Bottom line, is if you want above average service and you want to spend a couple of hours doing something exhilirating this is the place to do it. Monkey Jungle Tours is phenomenal. The people who work there are fantastic and they make the total experience all the better. GO! You...

Exceptional time--the best in Costa Rica! We did the canopy zipline and then the ATV tour. We could not have been more impressed on both tours. Our two guides on the canopy zipline were professional and safe, while simultaneously making sure we had fun. The ATV tour was great, as we toured parts of the jungle, and then our guide showed us the surrounding areas, introduced us to a local family, and took us to a local restaurant and bar. It was one of the best tours I've ever been on.

The best part about this place is the staff. I cannot say enough about how great our guides were. They were professional, safe, and knowledgeable. But they truly went above and beyond--as we were leaving the area, one of guides from the zipline tour, who was already off of work, flagged us down in the rain to let us know that the road ahead might be too flooded to cross, and that we should consider another route. He was right. We decided to evaluate the conditions ahead, and a truck behind our SUV decided to go around us, and it stalled out in the water. We turned around, and made it back safely because of his warning, and...
