My wife and I visited this wonderful place on May 5th. Roberto and Rex, his dog (very much a big part of the tour) were great fun and the tour was very educational We learned all about how you raise butterflies at his farm, how he came to be doing this and all other small details you would never think of. It's a lot of work but Roberto is loving it, we could tell. He is raising Blue Morpho butterflies but is looking into Monarch's too which I hope he is successful with. His farm is great and Rex really makes this tour over the top. It's fun having Rex there for comedy relief. I enjoyed having the Morpho caterpillars on me hat and nose along with the butterflies. A must see if you are in the Northern Plain...

This place is a must visit!! Particularly if you are headed to La Fortuna from San Jose. Honestly, I can not recommend this beautiful little treasure enough. Roberto is genuinely into his art of butterfly farming and is also without a doubt one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

I was a tad skeptical at first as I was the only person there. Roberto didn't speak much English either, so the entire tour was carried out using Google translate between us. Nevertheless a lot of detailed information was shared and all questions were answered. Loved every moment of the tour and Rex is an amazing dog.

Roberto, keep doing what you do. You're doing an amazing job and I wish you every success in the future. Pura...

If I could give this experience more than 5 stars, I would. Roberto (and Rex!) were fantastic guides and it was truly fascinating learning not only about the butterfly process, but also Roberto's story and how he got to this point. Really fun and super beautiful place. As others have mentioned, Roberto only speaks Spanish, therefore Google Translate is used - but this is not to the detriment of the tour whatsoever, it doesn't mess with the flow and he really interjects great humour into the tour. Absolutely recommended...

Had a great time with Roberto and Rex today. Was looking for a less physical intense thing to do after the nearby waterfalls drained my energy the day before and found this place on Google Maps. The tour is well worth the entrance fee and if you know a bit of Spanish or use Google Translate you'll learn a lot about the butterfly business. Pay attention as Roberto will question you! 😁 Rex will make sure everyone is safe. Aside from the beautiful butterflies I even saw a Toucan. Don't miss this place!
