Arheološki park Andautonija — Attraction in City of Velika Gorica

World Travel Blog #4: Šćitarjev, Croatia: My first Croatian #archeological visit to the town of #Šćitarjevo. Here these ruins date back to 1st century AD. I stood in what used to be a settlement between the 1st century AD throughout 3rd century AD. The fall of the 4th century Roman Empire led to a Great Migration of non-Romans into this settlement with intent to invade and destroy it which they did. It seems this archeological park is being severely neglected and is slowly going to ruin. The plaques and signs are faded and/or broken, the site is littered with cigarette butts and beer cans, and it's altogether a rather sad sight. Hopefully someone will take notice and turn things around, otherwise curb your enthusiasm if you're...

If you like roman history and archeology in general, this is a nice place to visit. Old ruins of a roman town. Its history is really interesting and you walk through it.

I think there were some floods that destroyed the ancient time.
