Sjekirica Beach — Attraction in Dubrovnik

Great rock out cropping! The beginning of the trail is the most challenging but my two kids and I made it down fine in flip flops.

Unless you’re a fuddy-duddy you’ll be just fine. No more sea urchins than any other beach in Croatia.

Per rendere l’idea di quanto è bella questa spiaggia, in una settimana di vacanza le abbiamo dedicato due interi giorni di seguito. Esattamente sopra la spiaggia ci sono due parcheggi, uno proprio sull’ingresso che scende alla spiaggia, abbastanza sicuro per le macchine anche se non delineato, e uno un po’ prima (venendo da Dubrovnik) sempre a bordo strada ma questa volta con strisce bianche. Quest’ultimo seppur comodo perché più “sicuro”, non ha ingresso alla spiaggia quindi bisogna fare esattamente 400mt camminando sul bordo strada fino a raggiungere il primo parcheggio e iniziare la discesa. La discesa non è pericolosa ne troppo ripida, ma devi farti largo tra alberi, rami e natura in un sentiero stretto tra ciottoli e sterrato. Consiglio scarpe da ginnastica. Arrivati giù dopo 5/10 min potete scegliere se piantare ombrellone sul lato “strada” o attraversare la striscia di terra che porta all’isola, ombreggiata dai pini (non ci è mai servito l’ombrello perché tutto il giorno eravamo all’ombra). Occhio perché di pomeriggio sale la marea e se la mattina ci si arriva bagnandosi i piedi, il pomeriggio tardi la si deve attraversare bagnandosi fino oltre le ginocchia. In my point of view it's the most beautiful beach in Croatia. Its greatest advantage is pretty location. The deserted island is located a few steps. The water is so shallow that you can reach it by feet. There are very few tourists. Hardly ever can you be bothered by groups of people. Perfect place for sunbathing...
