Falconry center — Attraction in Grad Šibenik

It was a great side trip while on vacation. The presentations start on specific times but there is a small coffee shop to wait at with normal prices and souveniers. The staff is enthusiastic, extra friendly and helpful. Apparently all the proceeds(souveniers drinks and tickets) go to supporting the bird hospital that helps injured birds from all over the country.

The admission is actually very cheap compared to other attractions and the presentation was surprisingly interesting and educational. The storyteller was also adapting the talk to the audience exceptionally well! Very humorous and engaging with the kids and adults. While you cant really touch the birds (reasons are well explained in the presentation) you can get to feed them and or take pictures with them under supervision for the safety of both sides!

They also work as CSI when dead birds are found and in some cases this can lead to arrests since it is apparently a criminal act to kill birds of prey in Croatia.

It was an interesting place - located in the woods, several beautiful wild birds in there. The presentation was really interesting - our guide told us about the wild falconry birds, demonstrated 2 birds and even let us made photos with them. This man looks really obsessed with his work, and you can see it from his way of explaining things. 2 things were strange to me: all birds were tied by their legs, and most of them were placed into rather small wooden rooms (I hope it was for a reason, as this center is about to recover wild birds and let them go into the woods) our guide constantly made sexual innuendos to me (like, called me 'darling', suggested me to find a boyfriend and asked me, whom do I prefer - males or females. It was all kind of jokes and was in the context of his presentation about birds, but I felt really uncomfortable anyway). Sanctuary for bird of prey run by great people devoted to perserving nature and educating about birds of prey. On weekend saturday and sunday is open to public an every full hour from 1000 zo 1400 there is presentation about bird of prey where you can listen to a guide acoompanied with one of the birds.Also there are several different birds such as falcon, owl and eagle to see in close. There is sldo a coffe place, souvenore shop and a toilet. Nice place go visit with your family or big groups. Sinage is good , just follow the road...
