When Turks started to attack local population Venice and Šibenik decided to build fortification here to protect population from attacks so they were running to the peninsula protected by the wall.

The wall is still in good condition, it is about 10 meters high and still serves to separate the Ostrica peninsula from the mainland. The peninsula is about 5-6 km long and you can visit it all, inside you can also see the mouflons in freedom by taking the second road on the right where the staff daily bring water and food to feed them, continuing you can see a beautiful view both on the side towards the mainland and towards the sea, there are several nice niches for bathing and you can get to the tips where there is a small aedicule with the Madonnina. This large city wall of Ostrica deserves to be visited for its historical importance, for its grandeur and for the beautiful area that surrounds it that offers beautiful excursions. I also recommend to visit the beautiful town of Grebastica very pretty and with a beautiful beach even if it is...
