It's a place that needs a lot more love...
ENTRANCE; First we came to the park, we had to pay 46€ for access to both parks (water and amusement park) for every person taller than 100cm, which would have been fine if i wouldn't have to pay another 5€ just to have a locker for our clothes and stash while swimming... In my opinion, 1 locker should be included per family buying a ticket for the water park. The tickets are nice rubber bracelets with a chip inside they use on the rides outside the water park 👍.
IN GENERAL; Once we headed inside the park we went to the first "fast food" restaurant they had to get some breakfast. On the way there we could barely hear each other speaking because of the loud music playing on all the speakers around the place. The worst part about the music was the choice of music and that they were all playing different songs?! Through the noise, we tried to order a slice of pizza a burger with some fries on the side and 2 hot dogs. This took some time since the cashier couldn't speak any English. But after some back and forth we finally got our order in. This order in a normal "fast food" restaurant would have been ready in a couple of minutes, yet here we had to wait more than 30 minutes for a small order... They microwaved the hotdog bread and they didn't taste very good, which also would have been fine if we didn't have to wait 30 minutes to get them. The burger is nothing to write back home about either, something between McDonald's and a nice restaurant. Then we have to pay 4.40€ for a 250ml RedBull??? That's insane and more expensive than the all expensive country Norway. Once we got all of our food I went back inside to ask for a knife we could use to cut up the pizza into smaller sizes for our kid to eat a little easier. For that they had to ask the one employee that knew any English to understand "knife". We got our knife eventually and had our meal sitting in the middle of 4 speakers playing different songs on a really loud level, but before we could even finish our meals, 2 employees showed up and started cleaning our tables without asking even though there was no traffic and a lot of free tables around. We started packing while eating our last pieces of food and went over to the lockers to get ready for the pools.
WATERPARK; Smart systems for the lockers made it easy to claim our own and lock it. Press the button in, scan the bracelet and you're good to go. I went to the park without any slippers because I wanted to buy a new pair. This also turned out to be a troublesome task since the one behind the cash register in the gift shop also struggled with english. I got myself some slippers and we went out, searched a bit to find any free lounges and found one eventually. We put our towels down and went for the big kids park in the middle which looked great but with chilly water, it was difficult for the kids to enjoy themselves. They took one slide and came back since the bottom of the slides are half way into the pool making it a guaranteed mega splash right up the face that doesn't go right for all kids. One of the kids joining us kept going but the other 2 came back and didn't want to go for another slide. We then tried a bit warmer pool for adults with a bit more depth and bubbles and showers and a pirate bar. The place and the pool were nice but a bit crowded and nobody was in the bar. We then headed over to the wave pool at 15:50 waiting for the waves that were starting at 16:00 but never came... We stayed in the wave pool till about 16:20 in hopes that the waves were just a bit late but gave up and headed up to switch back to clothes we could use at the amusement park.
OVERALL; Would not recommend, I haven't looked at alternatives, but I'm sure there is something better, or just go to the beaches nearby, they are free 🫣
Review is getting too long, but amusement park needs better security checks for people on the rides. Otherwise...
Read moreHonestly, one of the worse experiences in terms of what you paid and got for it. The cost of tickets to the water park for two adults, a 12-year-old child and a 7-year-old child is EUR 142.00. An additional locker is 5 EUR. If you buy tickets online, it's still necessary to stand in line at the ticket office, so you won't speed up your entry or get cheaper tickets. There are also no cheaper family tickets option. Upon arrival, we wanted to place our things (towels), there were plenty of free sunbeds, but it turned out that the paid 142 EUR does not include sunbeds, but for two sunbeds with a parasol, it is necessary to pay an additional 17 EUR. When we asked if we could move the sunbeds to put the towels on the floor, we were told that this was not allowed. Then I asked where we can stay if we don't want to pay extra for sunbeds, and I got the answer "in the forest". "Forest" is the part located in the back of the park, it is relatively far away from the pool and all the events. An additional bad rating is for the staff who take care of security and order. All the staff who work on the slides do not have official clothes, most of them are older minors or possibly students, I doubt that they have passed training in first aid and other things necessary for their work. Most of them are in swimming trunks without shirts so they are indistinguishable from the visitors. They do not communicate with visitors or provide instructions necessary for the safe use of certain devices and slides. I've been to a lot of similar parks and the best for me was Siam Park. In Siam park the price is a bit higher than Dalmaland, but the park is 10 times bigger, the price includes sunbeds and a meal. Here it can be seen that the goal of the Dalmaland management is to earn as much money as possible in the shortest possible time, even at the cost that visitors will never return or their experience will be bad. It is a short-term view that cannot last long. The only thing I liked was that the kids still had fun, so that's why I give it two stars... everything else is very bad and too expensive for what the...
Read moreWe were at the park two days ago, and it was amazing other than some safety concerns. -a variety of fun rides -some areas/rides for young kids -a restaurant -lots of other small shops which are very useful for buying drinks on the way, including a gift shop -huge statues of transformers and an alien -cool lighting in the night -water rides -one free “dark ride” -not very crowded, in the beginning you could ride any ride multiple times without any waiting time. Right before closing time you had to wait 2-15 minutes everywhere -huge foam show where people of all ages can dance in a rain of foam while trying to catch gifts that are thrown into the crowd -workers dressed in optimus prime and bumblebee suits walk around the park twice a day to pose and take pictures with guests -a huge tombola with prizes to win at the very end
-a little expensive -the trampoline was falling apart and some of the safety belts were scuffed -you have to pay for every dark ride after the first one -last but not least: on the ride “alien” one of our kids seatbelt was not checked at all before the personell started the ride. The worker was talking to someone rather than looking. Our kid had to fasten her belt and pull the bar down by herself when the ride had already started. We reported that worker later on. Dear parents, please make sure that your kids are secured when the...
