Charming piece of gothic revival architecture with Tudor accents. It’s quite a shame that it’s not maintained and it’s one of the castles in Croatia that needs to be renovated. It belonged to the Hungarian Mailáth family which passed out long time ago so what’s left is a big abandoned castle. Windows look rotted and things are falling off so be careful while visiting. On Google it says that the landmark is opened 24 hours every day except for Saturday and Sunday when it’s closed which is unusual if the building is abandoned. It is surrounded by a lovely park and garden which are also unkempt. There are ruins of a glasshouse in the garden. If all these buildings were renovated and if someone put an effort to clean the paths in the garden and to plant some flowers, I bet this would be a number one tourist attraction.
