A Perfect Evening at Putalj Wine – A Must-Do in Split!

Our tour with Putalj Wine was an unforgettable highlight of our trip to Split. Everything was organized seamlessly, starting with a 6pm pickup directly from Split Old Town—courtesy of the winery. The experience began atop a picturesque mountain at the vineyard itself, offering stunning views and an authentic introduction to Croatian wine. Our hosts, Tea and Nikolina, were warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. They shared the history of Putalj Wine and Croatian wine culture while we enjoyed an entire bottle of refreshing rosé paired with local bread and cheese. We had plenty of time—about an hour—to explore the vineyard, take photos, and soak in the beautiful scenery. The tour then moved to the charming village where Putalj's wine is produced. Tea guided us through their small-scale, fully manual winemaking process, which added a unique and personal touch to the experience. We sampled two delicious red wines (Zinfandel & Plavac Mali) before heading into a cozy side room for a spread of local cheeses, olives, and prosciutto—plenty of food, with more available upon request. To top it all off, we were allowed to choose our favorite wine to enjoy more of, and Tea kindly corked any unfinished bottles for us to take home. The evening ended with a comfortable ride back to Split, again organized by the winery. From start to finish, the hospitality was exceptional. This tour offers more than just wine tasting—it’s an immersive, personal, and authentic Croatian experience. If you’re in the Split region,...

If I could give more stars, I would! My husband and I have been to many wine tours throughout California, mostly in Napa Valley, but this one puts them all to shame! First of all, they pick you up and drop you off, so no worrying about drinking and driving! Second, there is not a limit to the amount of wine you taste, or the cheese, meat, and bread they serve to taste their olive oil as well. AND their wine is truly fantastic! We bought as many bottles as we could get through US customs! Third, the tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and showed such passion for the winery and wine making progress. It was inspiring, and we could have listen for hours more! This tour was nothing but amazing from beginning to end! This was honestly one of the best things we did our entire trip! We would 100% recommend this tour, and will do it again when we are back in the area! We can't wait for them to start shipping their wine...

Great experience. This is not a normal wine tasting. This is a very personal tour given by the owner who is very passionate about quality wine making and the history of wine in this region of Croatia (specifically Zinfandel) The staff was very personable and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning about Croatian wine and history. No limit to the amount of wine you can try. Anton is the 3rd generation owner and only wine producer in that area He personally pours you wine directly from his Croatian oak barrels. They also produce their own olive oil you can try as well. They provide high quality cheese and prosciutto (no real limit on asking for more) Transportation to and from the vineyard is provided which is great because the winery and production area are separate and not super easy to find...

We did a wonderful wine tour to visit Putalj Winery from Split, Croatia. We were picked up in a very comfortable vehicle from Central Split. We arrived at the Seaview Terrace amongst the vines and met the owner Anton Kovac. Anton told us his family and vineyard history. It was a very memorable and emotional presentation. Afterwards we wandered around and enjoyed the wonderful views and even better rose wine. After some time we went to the wine making rooms and tasted the latest release red wines. We also tried lots of local olive oil, cheese, meats and bread. It was one of the best wine tours we have done.

One of the most pampering wineries I have visited!! A slightly difficult way to get there, don't give up, continue with Google's route We took the wine testing - 3 wine testing per person for 35€ and a platte full of cheese, local bread, and kind of pork sausage. When they say testing they mean almost a glass!! And the small bread and cheese aside the wine was a lot! We finished there full and super happy With a light drunky For last, the view from there worth every hard drive in the road!!
