Beritnica Beach — Attraction in Grad Novalja

Great remote beach that you can visit by hitting the Life On Mars Trail from Rucice beach (30m walk) or using a taxi boat (hey Ivan, you're the man!). Great place, but a bit overrated. Rucica seems to be great as well.

Edit / May 2025 - First time we hit this beach off-season this year, and I gotta say — it was a pretty cool experience. Sure, the water’s super crisp, so not everyone will wanna jump in, but we did, and it was actually really, really nice.

The most magical part? We had the place pretty much to ourselves. Maybe three other people, tops. You can walk over from Ručica Beach, take a bit of the Mars trail, and it’s all just super chill — no heat, no crowds, just peace.

And yeah, having an entire beach to yourself? Can’t beat...

This particular spot stands out as one of the finest snorkeling experiences I've ever had. A short, invigorating 13-minute trek, easily manageable with trekking shoes, leads you directly to its shores. While other footwear will also get you there, anticipate a slightly longer journey. Even at midday, the area felt pleasantly uncrowded, allowing for a serene exploration. A small note for snorkelers: be mindful of others who enjoy climbing the sea rocks; it's a popular activity here. A nice picteresque beach, reachable by foot from Ručica beach (free parking). A few tips to make the most of your trip: The hike takes around 20 minutes, but the terrain is quite rough and some places are steep. Take good sneakers/hiking shoes. Arrive early to enjoy the views and avoid the crowds. After 10 am there were huge crowds on the way to the beach, but it was nearly empty before 9 am. Wear a backpack and have your hands free.
