Zrće Beach — Attraction in Grad Novalja

I cannot recommend this place for one simple but critical reason: It is dangerous.

People come here to party, to have fun, to let their guard down and enjoy themselves. This is not the place for that. Security and staff will NOT care if they see you lying unconscious on the ground, and when your friends call for help, the staff will be annoyed that they have to do anything at all. I have personally witnessed and tried to help in the above example and that is what I've seen. To further ruin the experience, random men walk around the beach claiming that they are police. They WILL search your bag. They do NOT provide identification. Whether the gentlemen that interrupted me that night were actually cops or not, I will never know, but at least they didn't steal anything.

The second reason is that this place is a fundamental scam. The scheme goes all the way from travel agencies down to the clubs. They see you as a wallet and nothing else. They do not care about your enjoyment in any way, a walking wallet is all you are. Expect absurd drink prices and sometimes aggressive security. The security and police work hand in hand, and if you ever get on security's bad side, the police will watch as you are beaten bloody.

There is actually no security on Zrce. There are only bouncers that make sure you've paid and don't bring anything you could buy there. Anything outside these clubs is a completely unsafe zone where people have been killed a few years ago. There is nobody whose job is to help you at Zrce. Not even the police will help someone lying almost unconsciously on the ground, as I've witnessed myself. It is an inherently dangerous place to be in, especially intoxicated in any way.

My final words are the following: I've been to many tourist traps in my life. All of them have tried to hide their motives and pretend to be nice. What makes Zrce unique is that they don't hide anything. They are a shameless tourist trap and make no effort to hide it. They will gladly flaunt how little they care about their customers in your face. If you're looking for some brutal honesty, then, well, I still don't recommend visiting this place, because you might still leave it in...

In short: This was a nightmare, never ever go there! Long version: We were invited in into the euphoria club, since the club was empty. So we went in and for some time everything was fine. However out of nowhere they declared that one section of the club was off limits (no signs or any other indication was present). When one of us was already leaving said section, suddenly the security guys snapped and startet to hit him. He tried to run away, but the caught up and hit him again. He went down, yet they still continued to kick him. Multiple people were witnesses to this. We called instantly called the police, but instead of helping us, they refused to take our statement. When we were talking to the policy in front of the club, one security came up to us again and started to push us around again. The policy did nothing to deescalate the situation, they just stood by. Finally the told us, that we have to leave and do an alcohol test. The one of us, who was attacked received multiple injuries including to his face and was required to receive medical attention in the local hospital (which was btw nowhere near any standards that you would expect from a hospital in the EU).

In summary we were beaten up by the security guys without any reason and the corrupt police refused to take our statement or intervene in any way. So honestly: go somewhere else. Anywhere is better than zrce. And if you are unlucky enough to already be there avoid euphoria club...

Zrce è il paese dei balocchi. Ci sono locali ovunque, cibo, alcol, mare, tatuatori e piercer, moto d’acqua e altri sport acquatici e pedane per il bungee jumping. Certo il mare non è dei migliori, in Croazia ce ne sono di più belli. Zrce ha fascino perché si fa festa dal mattino alla sera, praticamente 24 ore su 24. A zrce ci sarà sempre qualcuno pronto a mettere della buona musica. Le discoteche principali sono: kalypso, euphoria, Nomads, acquarius, papaya e noa. Poi ci sono altri locali tipo backstage bar o rocks. Molto carino anche il più recente locale sulla spiaggia, Burra, lì troverete anche i lettini e una piscina. È più privato come posto. Tendenzialmente tutti i locali hanno la piscina, il noa offre anche dei trampolini per lanciarsi in mare.

Consiglio di tenere sempre gli occhi ben aperti perché la gente si ubriaca e può diventare pericolosa, non serve che ve lo dica io. Detto ciò zrce è un posto molto giovanile e super divertente dove non ci si annoia mai. Da assaggiare assolutamente lo zombie nella dimensione jumbo!!

A zrce c’è la possibilità di cambiare i soldi in kune o di prelevare direttamente in kune, c’è scritto “zero commission” ma sappiate che non è vero, quest’anno la commissione era di 6€!!

Zrce beach è ben collegata a novalia, dista circa 15 minuti in auto e c’è un ampio parcheggio a pagamento all’entrata. Zrce offre anche tantissimi taxi e un servizio di navette che la collega con novalia, dove vi consiglio di alloggiare se volete andare principalmente a zrce.

D’estate a zrce ci sono i festival che cambiano una volta a settimana. Se comprate il bracciale con tutti i festival inclusi potrete entrare più o meno in tutti i locali senza pagare ulteriormente, tranne che il noa, che costa sempre. Ogni sera c’è quindi un artista diverso e suona in una delle discoteche di zrce mente le altre di solito offrono l’entrata gratis (quindi se Bob Sinclair suona al papaya costa, mentre tutti gli altri locali sono tendenzialmente gratis). Vi consiglio quindi prima di vedere quali eventi ci sono e nel caso decidere di comprare il bracciale per tutta la settimana.
