Stancija Collis — Attraction in Grad Rovinj

We found Collis by chance while looking for a nice wine/olive oil tasting and we are so glad we did! We booked the full experience in advance for the 1st of september and were friendly welcomed on the premise by Frano. He showed us around the lovely estate and we could really tell the passion he and his family have for making their beautiful products. They choose to go for quality and organic products over profit and ease, which really shows in the taste.

After the tour we sat down in the lovely garden for the tasting, where we tasted all of the lovely wines, olive oil and even got to taste the donkey milk (which was delicious!) Frano and his mom were really friendly and it was a very intimate setting, we even stayed for a while longer and drank some wines together with Frano and the two lovely ladies from Ljubljana.

I certainly recommend Collis to everyone, I would say it's a must visit (if you like wine/olive oil) when you are in the area. We purchased a few bottle of wines which were already empty before the end of our holiday, and took some olive oil home with us to the Netherlands to remember our great visit, we will certainly be back...

What a fantastic and special family winery! Definitely worth a visit. We were road-tripping to Rovinj, happened to see their sign, and decided check it out… which turned out to be the best impromptu stop ever. The owner was so welcoming and explained in detail the history behind the property, the wines, the olive oil and the cheese/salami platter we tried. Since tourist season wasn’t yet in full force, we were the only ones there and felt so lucky to get such personalized attention from her. The olive oil and wines were some our favorites on this trip! And the setting was so magical as we sat under the shade of a kiwi trellis whose flowers were in bloom. I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday one month in advance of our arrival. The day and time came and we were left alone at a clearly empty property. We made the mistake of assuming they’d honour the agreement and waited 2 hours. As I explained in advance it was my husband’s birthday and we were travelling with a baby. They didn’t answer the phone, they didn’t reply to the emails, nothing. About four hours after our agreed meeting time they emailed unapologetically and said to come whenever we want during the week. I guess this is the service from an overly commercial enterprise that doesn’t need individual customers.
