There is a small museum at this archaeological site but it is only usually open when the archaeological teams are working on the site. This plateau is only partially excavated but has a 6000/8000 year history of continuous occupation. There are graves from pre history, Roman remains of the fortress walls that existed in that time as well as the remnants of a Venetian watch tower, Ottoman remains and an Orthodox Christian church dating back 5 centuries. There is no entrance fee and the site is usually quiet but sturdy footwear would be an advantage whilst exploring. A great place that we revisit every...

This was seat of of the famous princes of Subic when they ruled Dalmatia and Croatia. Bribirska glavica is a small hill, 300 meters high that dominates the area. It has been inhabited since like always and today it's home to an important Croatian archeological site - Varvaria, an antique municipality and later medieval town, home of the Šubić family. Supposedly only 20% of the location is explored and restored. There is a small museum which opens only with pre-arranged visit.
