Located along the "old" Lujzijana road in the railway hub of Moravice, Čogrljevo Lake is a natural treasure offering a refreshing escape. Situated just 8 km from Vrbovsko, this beautiful lake is fed by five small springs that converge to create its serene waters. The nearby "Vede" waterfall forms a stunning reservoir, once used to power a small sawmill and a mill, connecting the area to its industrial past. Historically, a lovely walking path once encircled the lake, winding through a fragrant conifer forest and allowing visitors to explore the very springs that feed it. However, this path is now sadly overgrown and impassable. While the lake's most beautiful resident, the native brown trout, can still be spotted by those with a keen eye and patience, the overall state of the lake and its surroundings is deeply disappointing. It's disheartening to see such a remarkable natural site so neglected. The current condition of the area raises serious questions about how the local community could allow such a beautiful natural landmark to fall into disrepair.
