Jezero Velo Blato — Attraction in Municipality of Povljana

BEAUTIFUL!!! Absolutely gorgeous lake full of birdlife. The most prominent amongst the shorebirds that I saw were the Eurasian thick-knee, black-winged stilt, eurasian curlew, sanderling, kentish plover, common greenshank, gadwall, rock partridge, pygmy cormorant, European honey-buzzard, eared grebe, yellow-legged gull, purple heron, black-eared wheatear, red-throated pipit, common kingfisher, collared flycatcher, and Eurasian eagle-owl. On the contrary, there are two problems: the fishermen are so irresponsible destructive, leaving heaps of trash on the shores and disrespecting the wildlife there. The second thing is that the reeds are overgrown and taking over massive amounts of the water resulting in habitat loss that is vital for shorebirds especially because the other side is taken up by fishermen. Od môjho posledného pobytu v Povljane je badať markantný rozdiel( k horšiemu) pokles hladiny vody cca 2m a tým aj plochy tejto nádhernej vody.........a to som pozabudol na takzvaných domácich rybárov (berú všetko veľkosť ryby nie je meradlo)ak ich tak môžem...

Eine schöne Aussicht auf den See. Außer Möven konnte ich leider keine Vögel sehen. Man sollte also auf jeden Fall ein...
