Unlike other reviews for DU the Wire - this is a review about one scared 12 year old who didn't manage to fly the zipline.

Arriving, our youngest son fell unusually quiet, which escalated to a couple of quiet tears as he put on the harness from the cheery group of Du the Wire Team - who immediately began a process of encouragement. Taking myself and my son to one side, the owner talked to my youngest 1-2-1, giving a joyful rendition of how scared he was when he was the first to ride the zip line, and how being scared is OK. He ran through how safe the whole setup was, and the energy around the experience felt really positive.

As we went up the hill and watched others 'zip' down the line, it was my 12 years olds turn to have a go. As tears started to fall, again, the owner sat with us - we chatted about being scared, and it really didn't feel like there was any rush for us to get him down the line. He was given time to think, and winks of 'its alright' were passed between me and the owner as we worked together to encourage - but not become pressure/pushy towards him going.

As time ran out (it'd been a good 15-20mins at this point) - the owner kindly said he'd welcome us back the day after (FOR FREE) as he knew he could do it, and wanted him to really experience the freedom of flying for over a minute. Hiding a tear myself, I gave him a huge hug, and we headed back down the hill.

The morning after we discussed how my youngest was feeling, and this time wasn't the right time for him.

I can't rate the team high enough - they were just absolutely amazing! They know that they own this beautiful experience that customer's will remember forever, and the GENUINELY want you to have an amazing experience.

I've attached a picture of the owner sitting with my son. If you have read this, and your thinking of doing it - remind him of this story please - and tell him that he's an absolute superstar. Compassion, caring, and loving the experience he gives people on a daily basis.
