During our holiday in Dubrovnik, we discovered a quad biking excursion offered by a local tour company, which we booked through our hotel. The booking process was straightforward, and the company provided excellent communication throughout, even though our driver was slightly late for pick-up.
The journey to the ranch was smooth and comfortable, and upon arrival, we found well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms. The ranch itself was charming, home to ponies, horses, and goats, adding to the overall experience.
Our guide was exceptional—her English was impeccable, and she made the entire excursion enjoyable and informative. The quad biking route took us through a variety of terrains, including back roads, off-road trails, a little river, and the longest dike (which admittedly had an unpleasant odor). Wearing sea shoes proved to be a smart choice!
The ride was a mix of open fields and rocky paths, with a memorable stop for photos overlooking the sea. While we enjoyed the time on the bikes, we wished for a bit more speed, as the tour followed a train-like formation. However, we did get the chance to pick up some speed occasionally. A cover for your back is idea as the sun gets quite hot and once we finished we had some refreshments waiting for us.
Overall, this excursion was a fantastic experience. The combination of beautiful scenery, diverse terrain, and an outstanding guide made it a highlight of our trip. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for an adventurous and scenic activity...
Read moreWe had the quad safari tour with guide Marko. It was perfect from start to finish.
First the pick-up from the hotel was a comfortable minivan with a lovely driver. Then once we arrived to the farm (which also has a goat, pony and horses!), we were given the safety gear and briefed on the machines. Marko was a great instructor, so we as complete beginners felt safe all through the drive. The ones who didn't posess a driving license or were more afraid were allowed to try out the quads on safe off-road field and see how they felt about it. The ride was scenic and fun, it took us through a refreshing river, small villages, pastures with cows, forests, and so on. There was a stop in a cute little town with option to get some drinks at the cafe or just walk around a bit. The tour ended with a nice coastal ride (no open heights) and back at the farm a lovely table of fruits and refreshments awaited. Also they dust you off with pressurised air afterward, so every little detail has been thought about!
Marko took plenty of pictures during the ride as well. Our group was small and had cool people, so that added to the experience even more.
All in all, I definitely recommend it, if you want to explore the countryside of Croatia for a change, meet some cool people, and get an experience...
Read moreI rode horses as a kid so to get on a horse as an adult felt like a return to my childhood - even if it suddenly felt much more terrifying! Yet I couldn’t have picked a better place to jump back on a horse than Kojan Koral. Pero, the owner, has built a gorgeous place for his horses and takes great care of them - from their wellbeing to their health - and I was impressed at the quality of the equipment. There’s no dusty riding hats here!
Pero knows each of the horses really well so he can make sure you get the horse most appropriate for you and he can you about any quirks you need to look out for. I had Luna who is small but mighty. After help getting onto the horse and some instructions we ambled in a line and our trek began! Don’t expect to be trotting or cantering - this isn’t the trip for it. Instead, enjoy the beautiful scenery, being outside and the calm. The path is quite rocky but the horses are well-trained and know how to handle it. We stopped at the top of a path for a short break before heading back.
I’d say this is ideal for beginners and those who want to explore Croatia in a slightly different way.
After the ride, we returned to a prosciutto and cheese sandwich and locally-made wine.
Thanks Pero and Luna for an...
