We biked all the way up there from Zaklopatica and were met by a somewhat surly attendant who asked us abruptly what we wanted, then told us we couldn’t go into the lighthouse structure (a local business had encouraged us to ride there and told us we’d be invited inside). There was a water spigot available outside luckily, but no other facilities. The attendant sat at a distance with his magnets for sale in the shade, uninvitingly. The view was no better than any of the roads we’d biked up. We walked around the building a few times and left. Luckily down the hill there was a great swimming spot off a boat landing, where we ate sandwiches we had brought along. We had also seen many beautiful sites along the way, so the trip was ultimately worth it, even though the lighthouse itself...

The nature, the location, the climate is top notch, but the experience is marred by the decaying infrastructure, the inaccessibility of even nearby attractions such as sea approaches (not calling them beaches) and cliffs.

One star for the rude and off-putting “owner” of the lighthouse, who in fact is there only to look after it and manage / guide tourist flow - unfortunately he has taken it upon himself to act as if he owns the place, being extremely rude to tourists, which has even put some people off going up when we were there. Such a shame for what is otherwise a beautiful landmark with a lovely view...
