Ljubićeva pećina — Attraction in Općina Marčana

Finding the caves was pretty straight forward, there is a gravel road past Marcana and you can stop next to the cave trail. Find the first wooden mark and go around downhill. A lot of sharp bushes, cover up is recommended. It gets a bit slippery when wet but kids of 6,7 and 9 yoa managed fine.

Climbing down is like entering a different biotope. Caves are huge but there is a sign not to go down which we respected. Not sire caves are stable enough to explore. Still highly recommend a visit, the entrance itself...

Really spectacular! Go west from Marcana maybe 300m, then north maybe 500m till the asphalt (tarmac) ends. See screen dump map for good car park. Its only 2 min walk till the descent starts.

Es gibt einen kleinen Trampelpfad hinab. Dieser beginnt über dem Eingang der Höhle und führt in wenigen Schritten herunter. Während des kurzen Abstiegs wird es immer kälter und man muss auch durch einen Abschnitt mit unzähligen Stechmücken. Die Größe der Höhle ist auf Bildern nur schwer einzufangen. Ohne Kletterausrüstung und einen erfahrenen Guide ist nach wenigen Meter in der Höhle Schluss, aber man kann die Tiefe von zwei Löchern nur erahnen. War auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.
