This is the tiny obscure village which borders Croatia and Slovenia, where in 1944, the Germans came into the village, rounded up 280 villagers, including my great grand parents, and burnt them alive in the village church. This was in retaliation for 3 German soldiers who were killed in a partisan ambush. In the village is a museum erected in memory of this atrocity. Half of the original ruins remain as a memory.
