The good: attentive staff mostly clean problem-solving attitude nice natural beach free from paid lounge chairs and artificial structures (yet anyway) non-claustrophobic room relatively spacious balcony with decent privacy parking spaces (assuming that there are no individual idiots who occupy 2+ parking spaces)
The bad: expensive loud air-conditioning at lowest setting ugly interior design toilet paper is like sandpaper at times, irregular disposal of trash mostly poor and unstable WiFi, insecure AP small fridge with no freezer section overcrowded beach every day nothing to explore, nowhere to go on foot no market on site ridiculously steep, tight and dangerous access by car the view from the balcony: a wall same breakfast every. single. day. It's like a groundhog day. Mostly cheap ingredients dreadful pool with thousands of screaming childrens, so effectively completely useless for normal users thousands of screaming children everywhere dogs on the beach, although not a dog beach non-native speaking staff. Now, this wouldn't normally be a problem, but part of our vacation is building rapport with people and not struggling to communicate every day. A distanced and cold fake-smile atmosphere. Probably something to do with exploitation of foreign labor. random-chaotic-temperature shower water so, this is apparently a winery resort. So, a person would kindly expect a mere glass of wine for the welcome. Nope. Maybe a person would expect, as a guest of the resort, a reduced price for the winery museum entry. Or at least for the wines? Or the restaurant? Nope, none of that.
Biggest disappointment? Having a beautiful Mokalo beach just a few dozen painfully steep steps below, but due to overcrowding (apartments, several camps), and effectively no place to relax and read books and chill, having to go on Peljesac roads nearly every day and searching for alternatives.
Here, it feels, is not about guests; it's a cold profit making machinery. Was it terrible here? No, it was fine. Will we come back here again?...
Read morePlease do not book an apartment here. Would be worth it for 80 euros only just, but no way is it worth 110 in summer months.||||The room is very clean, but uninspiring and lacks character.||||Cost us a £9+ taxi - or £10 transfer of arranged by Adriatic - to get here. They said they couldn't collect us from Orebic or arrange a transfer, for us only to find this was a common arrangement for other guests.||||Fridge door can only open by opening a cupboard next to it (broken-off handle). Shower waist high.||||TV stuck behind the wardrobe and unit visible from one side of bed - actually about 12 feet from foot of bed so can hardly see what's on it.||||There were 5 tv channels: 3 analogue Croatian channels, a Croatian news channel (satellite) + CNN (satellite). Not quite sure this constitutes satellite TV. Currently watching Olympics on crappy Croatian channel - 90% of time no signal!||||Basic premise - we expect a lot more for £85 per night!!! We complained & got bad attitude, eg 'we have what tv we can get here': that would be fine if we weren't paying premium for the pleasure.||||Swimming pool is VERY small - the photo on tripadvisor shows small corner of pool. Small beach nearby shared by 2 other camp sites.||||Too far from town to walk. Asked way to shop: 1.5k away; advised driving, we had no car: advised hitch-hiking.||||This resort over-sells, presumes every tourist has a car, and charges extortionate rates to stay here. After 110 Euros, who expects to pay £4 per hour for Wifi?||||Good thing is: we hitch-hiked successfully & got...
Read moreThere's not really much we can add to what has already been said about this hotel but we wanted to give the hotel the rating it deserved. ||||This is a fantastic hotel with a stunning setting. The staff in this place are amazing apart from maybe the maid service which was not 100% i.e no clean towels some days and floor not swept for days on end. |||| A couple of comments we would like to make mainly to the hotel. Do something about the wasps/bees around the pool area there must be something that can be done. This made being by the pool very uncomfortable some days especially if sweet drinks were around. Why close the lobby bar at 6pm this was a very popular bar the first week and the second week management decided it should close at 6pm when the hotel was at it's full capacity. Made no sense and put much more pressure on the already very busy mojito bar. ||||We did two excursions Water Rafting which as amazing and would recommend. Although a tip if you are considering you need proper footwear, crocks, trainers, sea shoes and there are some pretty tricky walking parts to be aware of. The other was Split and Trigor, which in my opinion was just okay. The guide was amazing but it was a very long day. Would I recommend maybe not but that's just my taste. ||||All said though we had an amazing holiday and will be back maybe in a year or two once our legs have recovered...
