Winery Terra Madre — Attraction in Općina Slivno

My wife and I were driving up the coast from Dubrovnik to split. On the right there was a tiny wooden sign that said "winery." We looked at each other, I jerked the wheel to the right and we drove our tiny hatchback up a mountain, several times wondering where we were going. Then the road opened up and we saw a beautiful structure atop a Cliffside with the sea stretched out behind as a backdrop. There were no cars and we wondered if anyone was there. Once inside we were treated to the Most incredible wine, olive oil and cheese (Paski Pag!) That we had ever had. It was one of the highlights of our entire trip. We love Winery...

Great experience here. We were staying in Komarna and saw the beautiful location of the winery when arriving into town. Decided to go for the sunset and were not disappointed. Lučia was a wonderful server and provided us with two tastings and explained the wines well. We learned that the Zinfandel grape is a descendant of originally Croatian wine. The entire staff was engaging to our run year old and Lučia even gave him toys to play with. There was ample space for him to play outdoors. Our visit concluded with live music on the terrace. Had the wonderful experience here with Lucia as our hostess. Prices are reasonable for such a beautiful place and fantastic wines with breathtaking views! We tried both wine tastings with and without food. Cheeses, cured meat and anchovies were delectable. surprisingly, we enjoyed almost all wines offered. The whites and reds were really nice, our last favorite was the rose, which wasn't bad. Lucia did a great job explaining the wines in both English and native tongue, very welcoming!
