Here is a recipe for an incredible summer day in Istria: spend the cooler morning wandering around beautiful Rovinj, headed to Matošević in the late afternoon for a tasting, and (make a reservation at Tomaževa konoba Family Agritourism for dinner. When I did this in July ‘24, it was one of my favorite, relaxing days in a 3-week road trip around Croatia and Slovenia. I don’t drink much and don’t know much about wine, but I loved the experience of sampling a flight here! The customer service all over Croatia was superb and the employees here were patient and so nice. I bought 4 bottles to bring home and give to my brother and SIL for a 10-year wedding anniversary gift. The owner of my Soba was very pleased with my purchases. 🤣 While enjoying a tasting, I used Google to find Tomaževa konoba Family agritourism for dinner and had an incredible meal there. A heartfelt thank-you to Ružica and the entire Matošević team for this unforgettable experience. Highly recommended to all wine lovers seeking beauty,...
Read moreWhere to start?? Most of all, the wines are excellent! The texture, the smell, the complexity of the wines is something unique. I rarely go to a wine tasting where I like all the wines offered but at Matosevic I did. It happened only at the Matosevic cellar and in Hungary. Valentina who showed us the wines was really accommodating and a great fountain of knowledge. She even showed us the wine cellar and the steel tanks, where the wine matures. Thank you Valentina for your proficiency! All in all if you have time worth to stop at the Matosevic winery for a visit. For the wine, the surrounding...
