Very nice place. They have done something I haven't seen before: the whole castle is a giant puzzle. If you opt in for "escape room" style of the tour you get a map of the castle and a bunch of riddles to solve. If you correctly solve all the riddles you can pull out a sword out from the stone in the end. Excellent fun for the whole family, it will keep you occupied and running around the castle solving puzzles. What usually can be a boring tour, they turned it into a lot of fun and also you can learn something in the process. Well done!

There is also a small museum in the castle where there is also a lot of interactive content you can try. My favorite is whack an intruder with a ball. (sorry, forgot the official name of the game) Basically you get a lot of balls and you throw them at the intruders who are climbing the wall. Lot of fun, I found out that my mother in law has a quite good throwing arm 🤣.

It's not a big castle but it definitely has it's charm. The whole little town is a hidden gem in the heart of Istria. One of those places where you instantly fall in love with. I reccomend it to everyone.

Oh, one last thing, we visited the castle at the end of May and there wasn't any crowd at all so it was a very...

Morosini Grimani Castle - The village appeared almost abandoned when we drove in and parked but there was a small castle with corner towers in the centre so we knew we had the right place. The staff inside were fantastic - I really can't praise them highly enough, from the initial introduction and explanation of the layout to the multimedia room with interactive activities they were engaged and helpful.

The castle is small so normally it would have taken about 20 minutes to look around before leaving but this one was so well laid out with information boards and activities that we spent a lot longer. The multimedia room had various options and it was fascinating to listen to some of the original correspondence between the Dogaressa, her garrison commander and her chancellor. We could watch the damage to the castle from fire and attacks as well as experience being burned as a heretic. It was also fun forging a sword in time with the Eye of a Tiger soundtrack.

We finished this visit off with a tour of the armoury before going outside to look at where the castle gardens were, now a public park. A bargain experience for the €10 entry and a really enjoyable visit - I left with a...

This was such a wonderful experience! We bought the tickets for the "escape the castle" + the castle tour and I highly recommend it. The escape game is really well made, it takes you all around the castle and let's you visit spaces which you would be able to get to otherwise. The riddles are not too hard and can be enjoyed by younger children as well (with some parental help). The multimedia room, where the game ends, is fantastic. So many interactive things and games to check out, it's fun even for adults, and very educational too! At the end of our visit we stopped at the castle tavern where we had a meat and cheese platter which was very reasonably priced and really delicious. All the products on the platter were local and typical for the region, so I would really recommend giving it a taste. All in all a truly special day in a truly...

A Venetian era castle featuring a museum, bar, gift shop and accessible inner courtyard. There is even the option to do a Castle Escape Game, during which you have to find the code that enables you to draw a knight's sword from a rock. Really nice concept, but the execution left to be desired with some unclear games and worn out accessories. Rather recommended to children aged 6 - 15 than to adults. The castle in itself however offers a few enjoyable views of the surroundings, but don't expect to spend more than 1 or 2 hours (excluding the game)
