Dont’t expect big. Kastelina is a bit strange in design. It is basically just a walled structure with two towers on a small rocky point. Not sure what the original purpose was as it looks just like a possible shelter from land only attack… Next to Kastelina fortress is one very interesting beach. It is not a regular rocky or sandy beach. It is geologically very different from any of the beaches we saw before in this region. It is a mix of clay and sand stone creating some surreal shapes but the beach itself is made of colorful pebbles while there is...

Ruins of an old castle from 17th century. Nice short walk from the car park by the road down into the bay and then through the woods to find the castle. Some great views across the sea and to other islands. Felt like we were seeking a bit of a secret castle but there turned out to be quite a few people there. Interesting to explore, very picturesque and...

This is for you if you enjoy the mixture of history and a great beautiful beach with clean water. The ruin Kaštelina is a Venetian fortress with a still visible lion sigil, restored in 2002. The way there is easy to navigate, unless your internal sense for navigation is on the level of amoeba, which seems to be the case with...

Called in here with zero knowledge of what to expect, a lottle walk along a rocky path through sometimes and you come to the castle, very old building but still in good condition, no information boards but luckily plenty of internet signal so can read about its history whilst you are there. A very pleasant way to spend an hour or so.
