You need to come here it’s definitely worth it but there are a few things you need to know.
You need to rent a car to come here there is no public transportation here and no Uber or taxi will take you here and even if they do decide to take you there is barely any phone signal at the beach so you won’t not be able to call for a ride back.
If you are driving from the old town it’s about a 40 minute drive. The highway over there is up on the mountain with lots of curves so if you are scared of heights the ride over there will not be your favorite. Once you get to the road that takes you to the beach they start becoming more narrow so only one car can fit so if a car is coming from the opposite direction one of you will have to try to pull over to the side of the road or go in reverse to let the person go through. For this reason I recommend renting a small car it will make getting through this road a lot easier. Once on this road follow the signs that say Pasjaca. Eventually you will get to an area that has trees and some sort of empty/abandoned soccer like field you can park here if there is no parking no worries just continue straight on that same road and you will find more parking that is even closer to the entrance.
You have to be ready to take a 6 min hike down the cliff the hike down is not so bad but if you have small children please don’t let them run down they can literally fall into the ocean. Once you reach the bottom you have to climb down on a uneven rock this can be difficult for certain people, I witnessed a few elderly people struggle and even one guy fell. The hike back to your car will give you a nice leg workout you will feel it in your calves and hamstrings.
This beach is all rocks so definitely take your water shoes. This also means when you lay down your blanket or towels you will be laying on top of rocks so look for a section with small pebbles. Even when you enter the water it will still be all rocks under your feet.
Be warned there is no shade in this beach so if you need shade bring your own umbrella.
There is no bathroom or any where to change. There are no life guards on this beach. There are no garbage cans so make sure to take a bag for your trash don’t be that degenerate who makes a nice place ugly. I recommend you bring your snorkel gear there are many fish...
Read moreAbsolutely stunning beach. No wonder it is considered one of the best beaches in the area. Even locals were recommending to visit. However, without a car it is not easy to get here. There is no public transport from Dubrovnik. We took bus 10 from the main bus station in Dubrovnik to bus station in Cavtat, about 26 kuna one way for a person and it took about 50min. Then from Cavtat take Uber to the beach. There are enough available cars around due to close proximity to the airport. We only waited for like 10min and then drove for 15min to the beach. It costed around 110 kuna, if you split the fare - it’s cheap! But to get down to and up from the beach can be challenging. It is at the bottom of the cliffs. Most of the path is concrete and has a tail to hold onto but at time it gets very steep. At the end there are rocks which you’d have to climb off to get down to the beach, literally last 2metres. But there were many families with kids with lots of gear they carry, so it’s definitely doable! The beach does have the car park at the top of the cliffs, but there are no amenities, no showers, no toilets, no bars or restaurants. On the day of our visit there was a guy selling drinks and ice cream at the car park. Very cheap 10-15 kuna per drink/ice cream. It is a must visit beach, the water is the warmest among many beaches we have tried. It’s super clear and lots of people snorkelling around. It is very beautiful during the day and in the evening. It can get very packed and has little shade. But at the end of it there is a cave where maybe up to 15 people can hide in the...
Read moreAfter the reviews we were a bit unsure if it was safe to go here but glad we went! We took a taxi in and the descent was a bit steeper at the end but very doable, even in flip flops. There are two smaller areas were the fence is missing but the path is like a meter wide. There were plenty of children on the beach so they obviously made it down as well. The views are amazing and the beach / water stunning. No sounds of traffic, only the occasional airplane at a longer distance and we didn’t see any boats either. The beach is small and has a lot of bigger rocks, making it very difficult to find a spot to lie down, even though there is plenty of space. After noon, there is little to no shade so bring an umbrella if you can, the sun is relentless (no breeze since cornered against a cliff). It’s a dramatic setting and well worth it. When going back we first had to walk up the road a bit to get internet and then we found that not many taxi drivers are willing to come down the long windy road to pick us up. It took roughly...
