Being the province capital, Sancti Spiritus is not that popular than its sister city Trinidad due to the fame of World Heritage of Trinidad. However this city is a hidden gem in Cuba that you can slowly enjoy its colonial charm without much hassle and in a less tourist ambience. Also found in 1514, Sancti Spiritus is also one of the earliest cities founded by the Spanish and it just celebrates its 500 birthday in 2014. Thus, the oldest church and bridge can be found in this city. At its centre, Parque Serafin Sanchez may be one of the most beautiful colonial plaza in Cuba where handsome neoclassical mansions stood around the park.
