Today we checked out from Shayna Hotel and here are my notes. Hotel is a small facility with not many rooms (which is a big plus for me), an impresssive restaurant and own cove with crystal clear water. Building is new and there was no sign of wear and tear. It is right at the coast, views are marvellous. Room is quite big, bathroom is good sized. Comfortable big bed, tv with hundreds of channels, modern design bathroom with shower etc. Atelier Works toiletries. Everything feels high quality. All around it was clean and well maintained. Hotel has its private cove with a beach and platform area. Sea bottom is mostly rocks but there are sandy parts. There is a beach bar. Restaurant has a wide range of food which the ones we ate was tasty. There are fixed menus with a lot of mezes etc which was more than we can finish Breakfast was good. You can have an extensive Turkish breakfast or an English breakfst or pancakes. The staff everywhere is attentive and very nice. Transportation was easy for us as we rented a car at the airport which is a must imo. Hotel is 10 minutes walk distance from the main road to Girne through a mostly residential district. It takes around 15 minutes drive to Girne city. One thing to remember is the traffic runs on the left so it might take some time to adjust. Public transport appears to be practically not an option so it is either rental or taxi We stayed off-season so it was really peaceful with not many other guests. They accept daily visitors to the beach and the restaurant so it might be different on season. Our stay was great all in all and I recommend the...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews but feel this place deserves the credit, thank you Sam and the team at Shayna! I have been coming to N Cyprus for 10 years & honestly have never experienced such a wide variety of tasty meze, don't even get me started on the fish which is super fresh as caught daily.
The service is first class and you just feel welcome and taken good care off. I never felt served with a genuine kindness as I do here, every time I come. The waiters are just on it, and at the same time not too much.
This is the first and last place I'll come to enjoy my lunch/dinner before heading back to the UK.
The view is incredible, it's the best place to sit and watch the waves over a wine/beer or 2. And when you are done with the food you can even go down to the sun bathing platform, have a cocktail and wait for the sun to set.
All in all it is a beautifully brilliant restaurant experience ☺️ & Sam you are a...
Read moreThe restaurant where nobody smiles Shayna is one of the top locations all over Cyprus. Classic ocean view, beautiful architecture. The wind softly breezes. But when rain comes, the staff freezes. Nobody helps the guests with their half eaten plates inside. It's typical. The service people are not the guests friends. They don't smile. They don't even laugh. Is this wonderful place just a money making institution at all cost? The food was pretty okay, though slightly overpriced. But why do we have to wait 20 mins to be asked if we would like something more to drink? Although our glasses are empty. Waiters are even running through the place. I come back from the toilet. An old man in his 80ies sits alone at his desk, trying to swallow his meal. I smile at him. No reaction. Same with all waiters. It's a dead place for dead rich people. And this is sad. Because we all ought...
