Kalamos Winery — Attraction in Amargeti

This is a small regional winery situated in the lovely village of Amargeti. It's open between 08:00 and 16:00 (closed on Sunday). We've visited a couple of times and been offered wine to taste - we particularly like the xynisteri and roze dry wines. On our last visit we tried the pomegranate liqueur which is absolutely delicious. One can purchase their bottles of wine, 10 litre boxes (red and white), zivania and commandaria at very good prices. Both times we've visited we've met Thanasis (one of the sons) who is very friendly and charming. Well worth the short drive from Paphos. A couple of days ago I had the pleasure to visit Kalamos Winery in Amargeti, and the privilege of meeting the lovely wife of the owner. I cannot praise enough the hospitality and warmth with which I was received. This winery is a small family business, still making wine the traditional way, with spectacular results. As a part of my Sperm Donation World tour of Cyprus, I came here as an egg donor came from Cyprus it was important for me to embrace the culture, Cypriot wines alot of them use their native grape which provides a unique experience.
