I found the small church to be the most interesting to experience at Cavo Greco National Park. The taxi drove us all the way down to the 'park' (it seemed more like a desert) area and we had a nice walk to the church. It was beautiful with the cliffs and the ocean. While I was inside the church however a woman tourist came in and just walked behind the curtain and showed no respect, that bothered me. I would have liked to read some info about the church, there was nothing. There was a homemade cross outside, I don't think it had any connection to the church, but it made an impession on me. Before we entered the church a car parked there and an old brit came out and put food out for the cats. He sad he had fed the cats every day for the last 8 years. That was a nice thing to experience. On the way to 'the park', like a minute before, we saw a cross and a cave which I really wanted to see - I asked the taxi driver about it after we passed it - but he didn't see it and knew nothing about it which we found quite strange. I hope I get to go back and see the cave...
Read moreWalked the trail from Agioi Anargiroi Church to the Sea Caves (8km round trip). It took around 90mins there and 55mins back (we hustled because the sun was going down), with some time hanging out at the Sea Caves in between. The walk is very beautiful, there is a Stone Arch along the way and a swimming inlet 30mins from the Sea Caves (with a metal ladder to get in and out). There are some beautiful views of the ocean and the mountain and the Sea Caves are stunning. Do not attempt this walk without a downloaded map. And make sure you bring water, it was very hot walking this trail even though the temperature was a mild 23 degrees Celsius. Wear good shoes and watch...
