Ekfraseis Winery — Attraction in Chandria

Noon family visit on a Saturday, 2 adults and a toddler.

We have made a reservation prior our arrival for a wine tasting session, as it happens with most of wineries. The owner called us to make sure we had the correct directions and guided us straight to the winery.

A very warm greeting by Mrs. Tara which she served us an accompanying traditional platter ( huge one) with great selection of cheese and other delicacies, the platter was very rich in variety and content.

The actual wine tasting took us around 45 minutes, we were introduced to Xynisteri, Sauvignon Blanc, Mythodia Rose, Ohthi Rose, Rapsodia red, ONAR red and Delear Red, we event tasted a special edition very limited wine directly from the owner. There are booklets for information and a feedback paper to note down tasting information, as this was our 1st interaction with the wines and the actually winery we were impressed by the warmness and passion, as a result we went back home with 10 bottles.

The toddler was treated to water :)

Highly recommended for scenic views and non-commercialised one on one wine...

My husband and I had the complete pleasure and joy of finding this gem of a vineyard in the emerald heart of Cyprus. What Christos (the mastermind behind this amazing place) has done, is nothing short of spectacular.

The wine tasting was so well prepared. Each wine was served with a selection of fresh cheeses, fruits, and olives from the estate; the foods were very well paired, and I specifically loved the locally made blue cheese. My husband (a self described wine connoisseur), was very impressed by the intricacy, mineral qualities, and roundness of each wine that he tasted. We bought a few bottles and will definitely be buying more in the future.

From the view, to the product, to most importantly the lovely people running this place, I cannot recommend Ekfraseis Winery enough.

One tip: don't forget to make a reservation for...

Do not go there during the harvest at the end of october. You will not be served unless you have phoned before for a reservation. We drove all the way from Pyla for a wine tasting and were quite disappointed when the sent us away.

Rewiew: Hello Christos, Thank you for your answer, although I would not have used the expression "lousy opinion". We found you in Google maps and there it is not obvious that wine tasting is only on reservation. It is said there, that the opening hours are every day from 10:00 to 17:00. We came during the opening hours and have been told that during the harvest wine tasting is only on reservation. Maybe we come again, because I still think you have good products, but this time we just had a bad start.
