This is not our type of the beach as we prefer small, sandy beaches, but we were delighted with it. It was amazing to visit it! The beach is long and all sandy. The sand is so soft and nice, we enjoyed a long walk along the sea. The beach is wild, pure nature, it is beautiful. It’s not crowded at all which is great. Besides us there was maybe 20-30 people. Comparing that to the size of the beach that’s nothing. We had a feeling that we are alone on the beach. It gives you some unusual feeling of freedom when you go there. The water was clear and hot, with medium waves. Umbrella is a must as there’s no natural shadow. We’ve seen places on the beach with turtles paths to the see. On the way to the beach we’ve met donkeys and goats on the road which was a super exciting experience for our kid. If you go there bring some fruits or vegetables as they will come to your car waiting to get something :). One thing made us sad and that’s a decent amount of garbage on and around the beach. I can’t understand that someone can just throw the garbage on such a beautiful beach. Also it’s strange that no one cares about...
Read moreTraveling from Ayia Napa to this destination offers more than just a beautiful beach; it’s an opportunity to cross borders and experience a different culture. After passing the passport check point, you'll notice a few signs in Turkish and some unpaved roads, which reflect the socio-economic conditions of this part of the island. The architecture and commercial activities are less developed. You’ll see a more rural lifestyle, where domestic animals roam freely on untouched land.
Once you reach the beach, you may encounter some litter, but after paying a random local for a sunbed and umbrella (he charges extra for tourists), you can finally enjoy some peace and quiet, away from the hectic city. However, be prepared for the possibility of sharing this tranquil spot with other adventure-seekers like you!
Also, keep in mind that many locals may not speak English, so it’s wise to plan your return trip carefully. I learned this the hard way when I found myself lost after sunset with no internet connection....
Read moreOne of the best camping experiences in Cyprus. Either booking a cabin (comes with a bathroom and private shower too) or just setting up tents and a campfire on the beach are great options. Not many people reach the spot so expect only a few other groups in high season (and no one at all in low seasons).
The last 30 minutes of the drive are bumpy but worth it. Pick up some carrots before you come as you'll have to pay the donkeys to move out of the way.
Stay the night and watch the sea come alive with thousands of planktons lighting up the shore in a blue glaze.
Take a small hike to one of the nearby hills (easy for beginners) to catch the sunset, one of the best in Cyprus.
There's a restaurant nearby that can also be used for emergency WiFi (connection is bad at that point). The cabins also come with WiFi if you need it.
If you come at the right time you could be able to rent a horse for a...
