This review is for both the museum and the Christmas village in Fikardou. First and foremost Fikardou village is a must see both for locals and for tourists. The village is now uninhabited and mostly owned by the Cypriot government. So it has been preserved as it was hundreds of years ago. It's stunning. The museum includes 2 houses in their original form. One of them is 300 years old, the other 500. Furniture including wardrobes, beds, dining tables are all the original items in these households. Preserved in perfect form. The Christmas village is the best I have been to, in Cyprus. It includes handmade products (that I love) and I have purchased some. The road there goes high into the mountains, the road is deserted. beautiful nature and stunning mountain scenery, amber air. I was sad there: the abandoned houses, the cemetery, where the old burial places of entire families of the villagers, furniture, dishes, everything was left and life stopped there ... There is a monument with photographs of the dead young warriors who gave their lives against the occupation of northern Cyprus. I walked along the small streets of the village, looked at everything inside - no one forbids such a visit, everything is free. The museum is divided into 2 sections. The house on top is a 300 hundred years old with the original slate floor and roof. Most of the furniture in the house are original too. Th lower house is 500 years old and is on two floors. The first floor it was there are living quarters and the lower floor it was their storage for wines, olive oil, olives and the stable.
